Next update will the last one for this chapter. It was originally going to be today, with this as a two-pager, but I'd really like to NOT take a hiatus between chapters this time (and splitting them gives me a little extra time to work on that buffer). Even though none of the recent hiatuses were relaxing "breaks" for me, all the on-and-off with the comic over the last few months has been screwing me up, and I'd rather just keep the momentum going for now. Maybe we'll see a hiatus after the next chapter, but for now, let's try to keep it going. ^_^
As for this page, I worry it may not actually stand terribly well on its own. And I'm sorry if that is true. If you take anything from this, it should probably be that whether we like the plan or not, Rain has officially enacted phase one. As for whether this is a huge mistake or not, we'll just have to wait and see. Prom is still two months away, and there's plenty of time for practically anything to happen.
The fact that the administrator person is not colored gives me some confidence that they won't become involved with the story, which in turn means it's more likely Rain won't be found out. But that's meta knowledge: I sure as hell wouldn't do what Rain just did in a similar situation.
And, of course, there's still a possibility that this method of getting Chanel in won't lead someone else to speculate the truth AT prom. Like, say, Debbie. Or Drew.
I don't know if Debbie was wholly convinced though. Todd might not have taken it seriously at all but i'm fairly certain the idea is still kicking around in Debbie's head
I'm a cis-gender girl who has been mistaken as a transgender girl since I was very little. This comic has actually given me the confidence to cut my hair short. Just cause some girls might choose t have a pixie cut doesn't make them or me any less feminine, even if I don't choose to dress super girl 24/7.
I've been having to deal with all sort of exclusionary remarks as well as outright bullying against ace people since Pride Month started (even from people who are part of the LGBTQ community) but seeing Chanel always lifts my spirits. I love that there's an ace character in these comics that accepted as part of the community and is accepted by all her friends as having a valid orientation:)
In before it turns out that Debbie actually works in the Financial Office as a student assistant, and uncovers Rain's form, and puts two and two together and causes a huge scene.
I can't help but watch this and imagine that one joke from Game Grumps where Arin responds to Jon's slurs with "CHOO CHOO! Chugga chugga chugga OHHHHFFFBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM. MILLIONS ARE DEAD!"
