Welcome to what is apparently the most predictable page in the comic! I would say most people knew exactly where this was going after the last page. Sorry if that makes this one a little boring. XD
Poor Rain though. Actually, I find this page incredibly frustrating. Like, for story reasons it does exactly what I want, so I guess in that sense I'm happy with it. It's just the kind of person Todd is that gets me. I mean, I wrote this and even I'm screaming at him in the last panel for being a hypocrite. I've just known more than a few "Todd Bittners" in my day.
Rain - Volume 4 FINALLY came out last month! If you're interested, you can find that right here!

I've known a few Todds in my day as well. Still know some (it's what happens when you still work where you originally came out at) They only have as much power as you are willing to give them.
Whew, unless Todd isn't done, that went a lot better than I was expecting. As much as Rain is going to take that comment as hurtful, I doubt Todd seems to be actually clocking her with any level of seriousness.
Wow. First Debbie, now Todd; the universe seems to have it out for Rain today-in-universe. You weren't kidding when you warned people about this chapter. So far, this chapter has been painful to read, especially for people like me who can not seem to pass among most folk.
Yeah . . . I've seen this happen way too many times. I think often people aren't very confident in their own self-worth and accidentally overcompensate for it by trying to shoot down anyone who doesn't like them :/
With everything that happened with Debbie, and now Todd, I feel like the two of them are going to end up running into each other and talking about Rain. If that happens, I think Todd will try to use Debbie as his means to get into prom. I hope I'm wrong, because things could get bad if I'm not.
On a more serious note, I feel this. I've been hit on by guys before. Why is so hard to just say "I like her instead" and have them manage to move on and find someone of their own.
Why did nobody write about how awesome Rain is handeling this? I mean it's ***** hard and she defends herself, stands up against both of them! She is just being wonderful while being humiliated. To Debbie she even gave some honest and good advice... o.O
And though some people might think Todd and Debbie will team up, I hope that what Rain said actually got to Debbie and that she might keep her guesses to herself and maybe even defend Rain in front of Todd or someone else to get closer to Emilie again. But maybe this is just wishful thinking.
I doubt she'd go so far as to defend Rain. As much as she may want to be Emily's friend again, she still hates Rain for what she perceives as stealing her best friend. That's not going to go away quickly or easily, and certainly not before she's patched things up with Emily.
That said I would hope that in such a situation she would at this point at least decide to keep her mouth shut.
I agree with both you peoples! :P Yessss Emil, Rain is handling this awesomely, and likewise I really hope that Debbie will really think about what Rain said and find a way to start being kinder and more secure in her own self. And I agree with Neelix that patching things up with Emily would probably come before any peace with Rain . . . I hope that Debbie realizes that Rain's right about how she's been treating Emily and can apologize and be forgiven, and turn over a new leaf with them both <3
Very this.
Todd-B-Gone: for when you have a Bittner taste in your mouth.
ITS THE TEN DUEL COMMANDMENTS!
JUST YES :D
Down.
Winds up in an awkward situation.
Dude, the ONLY thing you're succeeding at is impugning your own standards.
