(Her name is Maya, but I'll get to her in a minute.) ;P
First off, where is Rain lately!? Well, I've sort of explained this on social media and journal entries, but I forget not everyone follows that stuff. So... Rain will resume posting this Friday, March 31st. I'm incredibly sorry for the holdup. I know I promised to be back before March ends, but I really didn't anticipate dragging it to the last day myself. ^^;
Anyway, the hiatus began so I could power through the remainder of Rain - Volume 4, and finally submit and release it. And I did indeed finish and submit it. But when I received my proof copy, I discovered a technical error that required fixing. It is done again, and I'm just waiting on my second proof to be absolutely sure it's best quality possible before releasing it. And good news: I think this is the best-looking Volume to date. I'm very excited about it. And in the best case scenario, it should be available later this week or early next. ^_^
All the focus on the book lately though, meant I didn't really have any time to prepare upcoming pages. Not to mention, life in general happened to me a lot these past few weeks (for better or worse), also slowing things down. So, right now I'm playing a little bit of catch up, which is why we're waiting until Friday. I need that page buffer to feel comfortable.
Also, with the completion of the fourth book, I have been able to finally start putting serious effort into another project of mine (which is where Maya here comes in). I mean, I stubbornly dabbled with this other project a little bit over the last few months (because it's very exciting for me), but now I can finally dive into it guilt-free! My philosophy is that as long as I can get my Rain work for the day done, then there's no reason I can't have fun with this. And fun, I shall have! ^_^
But it does make those page buffers more important. This IS a second comic, after all. "But Jocelyn", you ask. "Why would you do this to yourself?" Being honest, I don't think of it as more work. In fact, I think this will actually help me a bit. I mean, yes, I could be wrong. But let's call this an experiment. I'm testing something (a few things really). And the stakes are pretty low. If I can't balance two comics at once, I simply return to just Rain as I'm already doing. But if I can manage the two side by side (and I truly believe I can), then it will mean more to me than I can really put words to right now. So instead of trying to dissuade me from "overworking myself", I would rather appreciate your encouragement in my interest in challenging myself to do my best.
We'll just have to wait and see what happens though. For now, Rain will continue on its own (on March 31st). I'll practice with this new project on the side, building it's own page buffer, and post supplementary content for it between Rain pages for a while. And maybe, we'll be seeing a brand new comic from me going up on Rain's off-days sometime this Summer.
March 31st is when I'm updating my Facebook page! Though, I'm making the update public on April 1st) And I'm also "coming out" at work on the 1st. (due to my job, making it the 1st should lessen the potential for reprisal from the offenders) Almost all the staff I work with knows, so I am good there. Gonna be so nice to finally be Full Time and just end the old voice forever.
If all goes as planned, I intend to come out to my coworkers too on Friday. I'll probably preface my announcement with "This is NOT an April Fools joke.... I'm wearing my trans pride safety pin today and a pullover sweater that's definitely showing off my development. I still have on some eyeliner and mascara from last night that I didn't bother to scrub off in the shower this morning either. I've been getting some curious looks today too, but nobody has dared say anything to me about my changing appearance.
It's time to come out now. 7 months of HRT will be complete this weekend. Can't hide anymore.
I am almost at 13 months. My uniform is baggy, so my boobs are still fairly hidden. I'm doing it Saturday just so people think it is an April Fools joke at first, so any immediate backlash is softened by the "is this a joke" line of thought. And just continue on the next day like nothing was different. Same for Social Media. Most of the people I care about know, so let the rest speculate.
I'm following you not just Rain, Don't feel pidgeonholed like some do if you decide you've told "Rain's story" and want to move onto something different.
Just let us know how to get to the new project and I'll add it to my RSS feed :)

*ahem* Sorry 'bout that. Seriously though...please post it on here! I don't have access to DeviantArt .-. I can't wait to read it!!!
No worries. I'll post the new comic on all the same sites Rain is on. So while yes, it'll be on DeviantArt, it will also be here too. ^_^
Comic Fury allows me to run more than one comic, so I'll set that up some time in the future. And don't worry; I'm sure I'll broadcast the link a lot, so you don't have to worry about missing it. ^_^
This might be jumping the gun a bit, but do you ever think you'll do any cross-overs between the two comics? I don't mean like merging them completely--maybe just throwing in a cameo or something--or are the settings too different?
Technically speaking, the settings ARE a bit mismatched, but that's never stopped me from crossing over character cameos from my other stories before. For instance, Maya has already appeared in Rain. XD
It's very hard to see, but if you look closely at Fara's magazine on the following pages, Maya can be spotted on the cover.

And if you still can't make it out, here's the shot blown up. ^_^

I think there has to be. That may be tricky with this one, but I've been wanting to include a bunny somewhere in everything I write. XD

Side note, is it just me or does Maya look a little... wary?

How do I answer this without giving it away?
Er... yes. Yes, it is.
Whoops. Guess that's out now. XD
