First things first, because I know I'm going to be asked (whether I write this or not): Rain is not wearing her falsies on this page. If she's going to neurotically try to gauge her breast growth a couple hours after starting her first dose of hormones, it'll be easier to assess without falsies skewing the data (although like Emily said, nothing is going to happen that fast).
I like this page a lot. Besides offering some cute, light banter after a few heavier pages, it's also (at least, in my experience) a pretty accurate portrayal of that early excitement with hormone replacement therapy. Personally, I measured myself every week for like a year. XD
Uh... maybe more?
In other news, we're in the final scene of this chapter. It will end next week on Wednesday (or maybe Friday; not sure yet). Good news: there will be no hiatus. Better news: Chapter 31 will begin on February 6th. That's a Monday. That means, we'll be returning to three updates per week! So once this chapter ends, don't forget to check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for new pages. ^_^
I'll be 55 in 8 more weeks. Been on hormones for almost 5 months and can almost fill a 38B. Sometimes it's possible, if you've got the right genetics. Apparently I won the genetics lotto. And no, I don't want to be rubbing it in to anyone who's not as lucky as me, but I am excited and filled with hope for my transition. I hope everyone understands.
Trust me, Rain, hun. You'll be like "Why haven't my boobs shown up yet!?!?!" and then you'll turn around and not notice it and suddenly NONE of your tops will fit. It will be the most joyous, expensive annoyance ever. :)
(Also, car doors, dryer doors, cupboard doors, refrigerator doors, cubical edges (OW STATIC, or yay static if that's your thing), screen doors, curtains, cats, other people, and anything stacked too high)
It's basically "Congratulations! You've just become the proud owner of two brand new 'stuff I can-and-will-run-into-awkwardly detectors!'.
Or that feeling when someone flicks your nipple when commenting on your growth.
I've been on hormones for 6 months, and have gone up three cup sizes... That alone hurts! Leave my nip nips free! Leave them be! Meanies.
I think I'm a cup size up from my mom at this point, and two up from my cousin. I'm not sure what my aunts are because frankly I've never seen their bras.
All-in-all your body will do what it wants. If you want bigger, do boob-job? :p
I have done research on the subject, and the breast develops more fully if an orchiectomy is done before breast growth is too far underway. The reason being that breast growth has about a four year maturity, and male hormones so long as the testes are intact will behave as an unholy terror, ramping up T production in response to increase estrogen (the boy annoyingly deciding all of a sudden that youre supposed to be male, despite being thin and feminine for years).

For this reason, I wanted to have an orchiectomy done before hormones, but the surgeon, being a "the way we've always done it" jerk, tried to insist I take hormones first. Stupid jerk.
And that is why ultimately I instead decided to live as genderfluid person. Aside from also being interested in a girl named Kara, and definitely not into guys.
A boob job is not the way to go. Learning how hormonal systems work can help. Breast growth has to do with the estrogens (estradiol, estrone and estriol; also, it's good to take progesterone for balance and to offset estrogen risks) but is also affected by DHEA and growth hormone levels. Both of which drop drastically with age. Hence how older girls get lesser results. Supplementing with DHEA or pregnenolone (pregnenolone breaks down into DHEA and a neurohormone) can help. Or using a diosgenin herbal (fenugreek) will do it. Albeit, the mechanism in the body to break down diosgenin into DHEA has not °yet° been found. Nevertheless, serum levels of patients under diosgenin supplementation highly suggest it occurs and may give some increase to HGH as well.
I know a boob job isn't for me, for the above noted reasons - And I'm not sure if I count as "older" (I am 33 and two thirds years old now and started my transition process at 30 and 4 months old- with a pretty much concave chest :) - My current cup size is 34DD, so I'm pretty happy with where things are at three and a half years).
Unfortunately, I'm not a member of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee. Not for my age, at least. My breasts started when I was 10 years old. I say this is bad news because I'm FtM trans. Also, I haven't really started my transition hormonally yet (it'll be years before I'm old enough to start hormones) but I love reading about Rain's transition! It's inspiring.

And yes, still a million percent worth it. ^_^
