Hoo boy. Have I said yet that it’s going to be a long night?

The last panel was originally going to feature a short dialogue whispered between Rain and Gavin. But I didn’t like it. Then I decided on a shared thought; that felt iffy too. Ultimately, I stuck with silence as they gave pained, knowing looks to each other. Perfect!

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Oh boy. I can't wait to see the shenanigans THAT little white lie causes down the lie.

I object to that being considered 'white'. Sure, it's intended directly to be helpful, but it has an immediately obvious hurtful repercussion even before it's discovered.

"She... does...?"

Rain's so cute in her confusion.

D'aww, gotta love Simone. Her heart's so solidly in the right place.

Gavin, on the other hand . . . SERIOUSLY, boy, say something other than "violently abusive." You're trying to help, but like . . . chill.

gawsh, exactly. look at his definition-of-gormless face. he's still tired of course, but wow. perhaps gavin is cranking simone's doting up or down to his liking, like the thermometer earlier?
dear gavin, take these gorms, may they help y.. oh too late.

The looks between Rain and Gavin in that last panel: priceless! No words needed.
