If you recall, they never told Fara they were dating (they never told anyone technically, although Maria did figure it out). If Emily was trying to be subtle and say that in a way Fara wouldn't notice though, maybe the two of them shouldn't just stand around blushing and smiling like idiots afterward. But whatever. It's cute, and that's what's important. XD
And then finally, the doctor arrives!
Not much else to say about this one. After the novella-length commentaries on the last couple pages, I feel like I should have more to say here, but that's really it for now.
I also really love the character designs for both zee doctor and zee previously-shown assistant! They look so cool and cute and generally awesome to me :D
Ooookkk, first of all AMAZING JOB. It's too cute. Second, this is the important part (although really random), when will Ana be brought back into play? Sorry, she's just my favorite character, and when you said she was doing to have a bigger role I was SOO pumped!! Thanks :D
Yep, Fara has been around the block a time or too.... she knows Rain and Emily are "an item".
Fara does need to lose the purple plaid top though, it makes her look too old. That's something more like someone my age should be wearing.
Speaking of purple... (and I'm sorry to be bringing y'all down) this Sunday is TDOR and wearing something purple seems to be becoming an unofficial symbol. I need to buy something purple to wear since one of the online communities I frequent lost one of our own 2 days ago.
Really, it's been noted by more than one person that Fara's top is cute and I concur. Old? NOT! And that shade isn't quite purple but it approaches.
Odd that you bemoan purple and next thing you're talking about TDOR and promoting purple. Did it occur to you that Fara's top could be an appropriate choice for TDOR?
@Jocelyn,
I've enjoyed your work here but it's been six years now. It's really been disappointing because it's so late in the game for Rain to finally get her endo seen to. It just feels like this should have been taken care of much earlier.
It seems about the same as RL timeline for endo (from my experiences, at least). These things take time.
Also, keep in mind that 6 years have not passed in Rain-world. The story started in September, and now it's March.
As well, if this comic focused *solely* on Rain's transition, instead of also being about the cast's relationships with each other (http://jocelynsamara.deviantart.com/art/Look-at-this-mess-553944974), things would probably be moving a lot faster. But the comic would probably be less interesting.
I wasn't bemoaning the purple, but rather the plaid. Solid purple rocks, but plaids signify "mature"... I guess what I'm trying to say is all the little old ladies who walk our mall are always wearing plaid and I like to wear clothes that make me look younger than I actually am... to a degree anyway.
It's been 6 to 9 months since Rain started driving her transition forward. (Full time in her case)
I'd say that things are going pretty quick for her. It's been about 1.5 years since I changed my name, 2.5 years since I decided to transition, and 0.5 years since starting DIY.
Aww, cute pages are cute. Also, no way Fara doesn't know by now. Also, Rayne is a more common spelling of the same name if she doesn't want to be as unique with the name.
Side Note, so begins the Pokemon Sun and Moon drought, we won't be seeing Jocelyn for quite some time. :P
Much of a Pokenerd as I am, I promise that doesn't mean a hiatus or even a delay for the comic. If anything, I might even mean I'll be working a little harder in the future... ;)
You say that, but one Wednesday morning I'll check here to find a page that says "Sorry guys, but I'm fighting the fourth gym leader, comic tomorrow" ;)
It's not really a plaid either, albeit, it hints at it. A true plaid is more defined or stark. No. That top still suits Fara very well indeed. Flattering.
How i'm I supported to deal with people making fun of people with different gender identities?
At my lunch table i'm surrounded my they jruks, and there're always saying things like "did you just assume my gender", and "i identify as a helicopter".
You ignore them. They only have power if they know they are bothering you.
I was mocked relentlessly for my long hair once I started growing it out, and instead of defending it, or dodging the question, I owned it. A sassy flick of my hair when they say "That makes you look like a girl" really pissed them off.
Take away their power to hurt you and you take away their fun. Sarcasm can also be a fun tool if they are just being stupid.
Totally cute :)
Just gotta say though, I've read through all of the comic now, and why isn't therefore tguy representation? I know there's Vince, but he isn't featured a lot. Also, with the Chibis, id totally get the one with the Trans pride flag (rain) but I already have enough problems with misgendering...
Tl;dr not enough tguy rep
Also I love Fara's expressions

They are also similarly lovable.

I'm just now getting to see a doctor. Just now.

Ooh! Shiny new profile picture!
No Gym leaders in the new games, the entire formula got a shake up this gen.
Also, really curious about the Pokemon Stars rumor for the Switch. An HD mainline Pokemon adventure, I really hope this is true!

Sorry she it's. A Monday for Rain
