Okay, really the last comic I post for a while. I just had a lame joke in my head that worked so well with the timing of Rain starting hormones soon as well as the popularity of Pokemon Go. Of course, this is wildly non-canon, since it's 2013 in the comic so Rainverse equivalent "Minimon Proceed" won't be out for a few years yet. And obviously, I couldn't change the name of Spearow without very well killing the (already terrible) joke. So don't take this one too seriously.
For those who don't get it, Spearow is a Pokemon, obviously. And Spiro (short for Spironolactone) is often used as an anti-androgen by trans women. Yesterday, I happened to encounter several dozen Spearows in Pokemon Go, and due to grumbling about it out loud all day, noticed for the first time their similar pronunciations. This gave me a chuckle (because I laugh at the dumbest things), so I made it into a comic. And here we are! XD
Doing this also allows me to more formally address the fact that people have been asking a lot if they can do fan strips while I'm on extended hiatus. To which I say "very yes!" If you're interested in making one, go nuts! Send it to me, and I'll share it (with full credit to you of course), so that maybe the hiatus doesn't feel quite so agonizingly long since we'll get to keep seeing Rain and her friends. I don't even care if it's for laughs, cries, ships, or what-have-you. Just at least keep it PG-13(ish), and have fun! (Of course, fan art and fan fics are also totally welcome!)
As a final note, while I don't think I'll be drawing much through my recovery (unless I can find a position where that works), I would like to keep mentally active and do at least some work. Mostly writing, I'm sure. The books Rain and Emily are reading here tease which ones I've been thinking most about lately, so you could see something on those in the near future (but of course, I'll get into those specifically at a later date).
Other than that, SRS is just four days away (but I mean, who's keeping track?)

I'd also like to mention that a friend and reader set up a Discord server for Rain. So if you'd like to chat with other readers in real time, or at least, have a safe space to discuss other non-comic things, you should check it out here - https://discord.gg/MKgt7fc
I would use every ball and berry I have to catch a Puddle O~O and I'm up to ultras!
Rain AND puns? I didn't think I could like this comic more than I did!! Guess I was wrong ♥
Thanks for explaining the joke. The only Spiro I knew about was Spiro Agnew, and I didn't think that was what Rain was referring to. (Pretty sure he's not her type.)
Spearow is a Pokemon. She is playing Pokemon Go on her phone.
Spiro (short for Spironolactone) is often used as an anti-androgen by trans women. In other words, it reduces the amount of testosterone the body produces (naturally being something Rain would like).
Wow. All else about this page aside, I'm kind of surprisedly wondering if we've ever actually seen Rain pull such a "proud of my own joke" face before. This might be he first time, and it's still time-traveling semi-canon rather than an in-story thing.
Congratulations, Jocelyn! I'm so glad everything went well for you! :D Thank you so much for this amazing comic. I hope you have a speedy but relaxing recovery.
I just started reading the comic today after this one was put on reddit, and now it's 2:30am and I'm all caught up. Excellent work, well done, and damn the fact that I now need to wait for each update ;_;
Yes the dragon! That's what I thought too.
I have some additional irony in that I work in a pharmacy, sometimes handle spironolactone, didn't know what it was for (I'm just a first-year tech so I don't have to), and think of the dragon every time the drug comes up. Rawr. xD
this one messed with my head, trying to figure out what the reference was while comparing the current date and posting date and in world date to figure out what could and couldn´t fit here.

My apartment has an infestation of Drowzees. No wonder I'm not sleeping well. XD
Good luck with tomorrow!!! :D So happy for you!
♥ about 8 hours left ♥

Hopefully that clears it up. ^_^
