Cute page with a positive tone where there's much to discuss. I needed a page like this right about now. ^_^

So just like that, it's officially canon. Rainily or Emirain or Perfect Storm or whatever you call it, is a thing. Buuuuut what does this really mean? How does this affect their lives from here? Both in public, and in private? And what of their decision to keep it completely to themselves for the time being? Should this make things easier for them, or could it just serve to complicate things for them later? Your thoughts are most welcome as always.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Oh, this will most definitely complicate things down the road. I doubt they can keep it secret through the rest of the day. Fara will probably nail it soon as they come out and I doubt Maria will let up at School... yeah, this will be fun. I just hope the reaction doesn't out them at school, or worse, out Emily as pregnant, leading to the questions about Rain...

As happy as I am about Rainly OTP ^_^

The decision to keep it to themselves will definatly complicate things further down the line. The longer it is kept a secret the more questions will be asked and assumptions made when the truth comes out

Looks like I'm the only one to think it won't complicate anything. ~
My dating ability is still level 1, though, and with 0xp. I don't know much about those things.

Am I the only one who thinks this kiss is cuter than their first? And that's saying something. :)

Hidden relationships always produce complications. It's like what happens when you like choir girls, and you join two choirs from different cities because each one has a girl you like in them. What happens is that suddenly, someone high above in the choir business, decides to have a combined choir event and picks the very two choirs you're with. Then, to avoid the girls, you have to miss the two combined practices and show up late enough to the performance to be ushered directly to the stage, from where you smile and nod separately to the two girls, making sure one is not looking when you greet the other. At the end, you disappear right after the last song ends and later tell them both that you were feeling ill, which will not be a lie, because your guilt made you feel horrible enough to decide to straighten your life up and stop being such a player.

Yes, hidden relationships = complications.

I'm not really sure that's the same thing at all. It's not like Rain is planning to start seeing someone else.

... Well, maybe Ana, if she's down for that, but they've only talked to the extent of Rain running away a stammering mess, so there's a lot more possibility for Gavana than January Rain, especially with the type of person Rain is ^~^'

Come to think of it, I wonder how Emily would feel about the whole "getting Ana-related boners" thing. Hey look, a complication... Maybe you were onto something.

I see what you are saying, and you are right, it's not the same thing, but it is a hidden relationship. The guy in my story, which is not me at all (pinky promise) had to maintain the relationships secret from each other and from everyone else who might move on both circles. These girls here will do the same. Not cheating, but keeping their relationship hidden. Its exactly the same thing, but completely different ;)

I was in such relationship. It ended up really bad because of upcoming exams and not even our closest friends knew about it. We broke up in the end and I still have feelings for that person. It's bad.

wow, this is so very relatable and common and not at all based on a true story, right?
SayaHeart 4th May 2016, 11:37 AM edit delete reply
Then they open the door, and their friends are waiting with little confetti poppers and congratulatory banners *(\^~^/)*
But yeah, time to expect complications :( though hopefully nothing they can't work through without too much strife :) ~♥
@Sarah^- all Rainily Kisses have been the cutest :D

I hadn't even considered that option, I might squeal even louder at that one than I did their first kiss.

Having to keep on the down low about their relationship will suck but responsible use of refuge in audacity allowed Guy and I to get away with LOADS of stuff for months before we told anyone. Knowing of the spotlight effect is the first step to having it stop holding you back.

MtF Comrades

This question is irrelevant to the current page, but are transgender people allowed to serve in the US army?
My sister Riza, who is transgender (MtF), has been serving with the Dutch Royal Army for two years now, and she was able to join fairly easily, but how is it in the US?
And very good page btw!

I believe there are laws against it, so it would probably be fairly difficult. I'm unsure as to why, but my best guess is emotional reasons.

The United States doesn't like to let the examples of other countries limit the levels of absurdity it can reach, and while I'd have trouble sympathizing with anybody who called it the "best" country for any of these reasons, I will say that as a first-world country of its size, it's actually pretty unique in a lot of ways one might not expect, leaving aside the obvious bits about its economic and military power and such. As an example drawn from nowhere in particular, it's far and away the largest exception to the statistical rule that increases in education and standard of living result in higher rates of atheism.

Likewise, the United States' treatment towards trans people in the military can be a bit... Convoluted and varied. They're often rejected on ground of mental health concerns, but this is hard to pinpoint as specifically transphobic since the oppressive environment of many states in the US leaves a lot of trans people afflicted with other issues that could also get them disqualified from the military (such as major depression). It seems very state-by-state from how I understand; if you're in Washington or California, you can do just fine in the military as a trans person, but if you come from one of the really conservative states like Texas or Louisiana, you probably shouldn't bother... Or for that matter risk it, people in those places are craaazy...

And of course, countrywide if I understand correctly, transwomen still have to sign up for the draft, while transmen don't... But that's rather more a sexist issue in general than one specific to the LGBT.

I had to sign up for the Selective Service system because my sec market on legal documents reads as male. It it were otherwise, I wouldn't have to. However, aimin assuming the draft system were reinstated,I would be exempt, even if my name were drawn, due to several mental health issues other than my GD.

yeah there's no way they're gonna fly under Fara's radar, but I suspect she'll humor them and pretend she hasn't noticed anything until they decide to tell her
