We return to the girls with sort of a filler page in a chapter that really didn't need filler (it helps lead into the more important next page though). Still, I had a lot of fun with it all the same, what with having Rain and Chanel geek out like this. I really do love their dynamic together. ^_^
Presumably, Maria and Emily are still holding their own conversation close by, but not close enough that they can hear each other.
Er-hem. I hope this doesn't detract from story-related comments, but as you may or may not have heard, I've got an appointment for SRS consultation scheduled for this upcoming Friday. Maybe - just maybe - something good will be in my future. This also means your help was never more welcome if you're willing and/or able. Buying books, or shirts, or scarves/wristbands, or just plain donations are all very helpful right now. Obviously, if you are unable to or don't want to offer anything, that's totally fine. There are other ways you can help. Like voting for Rain on TopWebComics or joining/sharing the Facebook page can help spread the word about my work. Thanks for anything you can do; no hard feelings if you can't. ^_^
Man I wish I could pull off the 'glove sleeves' like Rain. I mean, I could custom some out of my hoodie, but it's new and I don't want to possibly ruin it, and I have no clothes with long enough sleeves otherwise.
Oh how I am resisting the urge to not go off on a tangent about filler in anime, or shows that deviate greatly from the Manga since it isn't finished. (Like the original Hellsing and FMA) Sometimes it works, other times it just falls short of what the manga ends up going for.
After last week's introduction of Allison and everyone being at the mall, this is going to be a very interesting chapter as they all cross paths. And then there is still the stuff happening outside the mall. (Chase, Jessica and Aiken) Oh how I loath being caught up on a story I love and having to wait for new content. :P I've probably read through Rain as often as Rain has read Kaminari. >_>
Side note, I want Rain's Kaminari shirt, the store's version doesn't have the same color options as her's.
At first I was thinking, "Well if they do cross paths there's a good chance Alison would recognize Rain with the shorter hairdo, at least there's no one for her to get accidentally outed in front of." Then I realized, "Oh shit, Drew........" We'll see where this goes I suppose.
It's pretty much all I've ever wanted in my life, if I'm being honest. So "excited" is probably an understatement. XD
I'm not completely sure what you mean by "what I'm going in for" but this is just a consultation. The surgeon I'm going to requires it before scheduling an actual date for the surgery itself. It feels like kind of a nuisance extra step at the end of a journey that's already been too long, but if it gets me closer to my goal, then it's worth it. And I very likely may have a date for this by the end of this week. So yeah, "excited" is definitely an understatement. XD
To quote Nowhacking "This is all so deliciously Meta"
On the show deviating from the source material the best example I am familiar with is The Walking Dead (I read the comic books and watch the show so I notice the differences between the 2)
As for a character that a fandom only sees for a few seconds becoming hugely popular... well the MLP fandom is guilty of that to the point where the actual show writers did an episode focusing entirely on the fandoms favorite background characters ^_^
Why is Rain so taken aback by a character with one white and one black wing? Isn't that the logo for Black Wings Kaminari? Why is no one in the comments talking about this? GAH.
Regardless of the logo, she's taken aback because it's not manga canon. It's not something that ever happened in the story as she knows it, so it's a little harder to swallow. Of course, she says she likes the character three panels later anyway, so I guess it wasn't that hard to adapt to.
Wow... One white wing and one black wing? Lick how Kaminari has different wings and everyone compares her to rain? This makes me think it's someone like Ky in metaphorical terms, or possibly Ana who we have no idea what's going on with...
One black wing and one white wing? Why is this character not canon if that is what the logo is? Yay, since all of the Kaminari charcaters are basically all of Rain's friends, this is clearly supposed to be Ky! How cool! I am still holding out for the day when Emily winds up a character in Kaminari. Also it makes since why Maria shipped Kaminari x Aneko, bc she had a crush on Rain at the time.
I've seen anime stuff where they start out with a couple of characters who are put opposite each other, and the icon for the show is some kind of blend of the two characters. And then eventually fans call for this "heavily foreshadowed" character to "finally" appear...
I love Rain's sleeves.

Also shipping. Classic.
Pointless comment. Classic.
