All these kids are such mallrats. XD

Also... Ky~! It's been ages! Incidentally, the script called for Gavin's scene to run this week... but it's been so long since Ky's last appearance (and the order wasn't necessarily essential in this case) that I decided to switch them. So, Gavin next week. This week: Ky and Drew. ^_^

Not a lot else I can say about this one for now. How about you?

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Er-hem. I hope this doesn't detract from story-related comments, but as you may or may not have heard, I've got an appointment for SRS consultation scheduled for the end of the month. Maybe - just maybe - something good will be in my future. This also means your help was never more welcome if you're willing and/or able. Buying books, or shirts, or scarves/wristbands, or just plain donations are all very helpful right now. Obviously, if you are unable to or don't want to offer anything, that's totally fine. There are other ways you can help. Like voting for Rain on TopWebComics or joining/sharing the Facebook page can help spread the word about my work. Thanks for anything you can do; no hard feelings if you can't. ^_^

Uh oh... got a feeling Drew may be on to Rain. Though, that was hinted at all the way back in Chapter 7 when Drew first mentioned feelings for Ky. But with all the developments, I think he will be cool with it.

Kinda sad to wait a week to see what is up with Gavin, his last appearance was a bit of a cliff hanger. :P

And then there is still Chase to deal with. And isn't all this happening within two days after the events with Kellen? Talk about a chaotic few days for Rain and Co.

It's awesome you have an SRS consultation lined up! I've been going back and forth on pursuing SRS myself, usually due to !oney, insurance considerations, and the current extent of expected results. I constantly check for developments with SRS, but I might be out of touch with the actual process.

What is the general process you're following? What did you need to do to set up the appointment? How do I progress in trying to get SRS?

To set up the appointment, all I did was go to the website of a one such SRS-performing surgeon and sent them an email. A couple days later, they called me back and set up a consultation for me at the end of this month which was, incidentally, dramatically sooner than I expected (I definitely can't complain, but for some reason, I thought the wait would be a lot longer).

As for picking a surgeon, I brought up to my doctor that I was doing this, and she listed off a bunch. I've also heard testimonies in person and online from post-op folks. McGinn, Bowers, Rumer, and Leis are the ones I'm most familiar with, though I'm sure there are others. I can't tell you which one to pick; I'd recommend doing research on your own. There are actually different techniques of performing the surgery that one doctor or another might specialize in (some surgeons focus on making the end result more functional, others on making it look better, etc.). Also, some may cost more or less. Some may be closer to where you live or not. All of that is probably something you should take into account when deciding.

Also, I believe you require a letter of approval from one doctor, as well as two mental health professionals, stating that this operation is medically necessary in order for insurance to cover it. My doctor who's been prescribing my hormones wrote one, as did my therapist and another therapist he recommended me to. I've had all my letters for a while (I was going for SRS before the whole cancer debacle came up and set everything back for me), but I don't think anything expires, so I should be able to still use those.

And hopefully, I didn't scare you away. This probably sounds overwhelming, and honestly, it kinda is. But the end result is all I've ever wanted, so I'll just do whatever I have to do to make this happen. My recommendation is to just take everything one step at a time to minimize stress. It's a process anyway, so rushing doesn't really make anything happen any faster.

I hope this helps you and anyone else who might be thinking about SRS in the future. ^_^

Thanks so much for responding! I was looking into Dr. Bowers last year, and I got up to the step of them wanting a $1,000 deposit to secure a place on the 18 month waiting list, and that really struck a blow to my confidence. I'm still not sure how exactly to broach the topic with my insurance, I saw on their policy that SRS is covered, but also I'm not sure if it covers it from any of the reputable doctors in the field, with "out-of-network" stuff not being covered. Like, what if nobody "in-network" has any reputable success with SRS?

Thanks a bunch. I've been saving up for years to try to make this a reality, and I think it's one of the most important decisions I have to make in my life.

Uh-uh, Drew's odd. In he was staring at Rain after his friends said that she looked "really boyish". Maybe he clocked Rain, and wants confirmation?

Ky doesn't like rain. He wears a hoodie.

This, I think, is one of my favourite comments.

Wow guys, can't y'all just focus on your date? Everybody keeps focusing on Rain when she's not part of the scene, it's almost like she's the main character or something.

... Yet, of all the characters to have jumped in to the position of "no longer spending all their onscreen time worrying about Rain," I'm still pleasantly surprised about Gavin of all people, so I suppose I shouldn't fret too much and just let these characters discuss their narrative master as much as they like x3
