Five years ago today, the first page of Rain went up. I don't know if that's quite as unreal to you folks as it is for me. I've had projects that I've thought about for five or more years, but none that have been actively and consistently worked on AND accessible to the public for that entire time. I feel like I say something like that every year, but I'm quite literally becoming more surprised every year. 'Cause I mean, not only am I still going five years and counting... I still have a ways to go, and plan to follow it through to the end.

Thank you, Rain Beaus, for joining me in this journey. ^_^

Normally, I do a montage of panels from pages that went up over the course of year for the anniversary posts. It's been kind of a weird year though. Thanks to having to take leave for several months for health reasons (and then posting half a chapter only two pages a week), there's actually been a lot less content to work with this year. And most of what is there revolves pretty strictly around Rain and Emily. Not that many would complain about that, but it doesn't leave a lot of room for diverse panels to work with.

So this year, with 5 years being kind of a big deal, I thought I'd really lay out the whole series thus far with all the chapter covers lined up from oldest to newest (even including the bonus chapter covers). Hope you all like it. ^_^

I love you all so much! Have an amazing day!

Five years. It sure has been a while. I started reading...when was it? Sometime around spring of junior year, so like early 2015. Seeing everything evolve and develop through the's almost alien to go back to the start now. Then again, many such long running comics are the same in that area, especially if they began before the tablet era, like EGS. But that aside, Rain is such a wonderful production and is a large part of my motivation to get through the weeks of school. Keep it up, Jocelyn! We love Rain!

Yay motivation!

So glad I got you to read this. Always nice when something I did makes someone happy, especially with stuff this...major.

Here's to the coming days and overcoming whatever trials my horrible luck with life decides to throw our way!

Wow 5 years... I started reading this comic september of 2012 and the page the comic was on when I found the comic was Comic 259 "The Closet"
I think it is not a coincedence that I found this webcomic around the same time I found the MLP fandom, because both Rain and MLP:FIM celebrated 5 years this year, I hope to still be a Rainbeau and a pegasister 5 years from now. Congrats Jocelyn and thank you

I first read Rain a few days into 2011, which is a month shy of it's 5 year life.
I was getting into and actively following a lot of tg-themed comic at the time, but Rain had an unbelievably tremendous emotional impact on me.
I sincerely hope that it continues for at least as long, and in the years to follow to touch many more people.

I first started reading Rain when a friend recommended it to me and wouldn't stop pestering me until I read it. At first, I was uncertain about it because I found it a little different (as you don't usually see LGBTQIA+ characters in everyday media) but after a while I really got in to the swing of it, as it stuck with me through several tough times in my life, and even helped me accept my sexuality (I'm homoromantic demisexual) Thank you so much Jocelyn for making this and I hope Rain goes for an extremely long time.

I started reading Rain a couple of days after my 16th birthday, so roughly half a year ago. It seems like a short time in retrospect, but because of how far my own life has come since then, and how much rain has helped me through everything, I feel like it's been a lifetime, which it might as well have been, considering my transition (if only mentally). Jocelyn, I really need to thank you from the bottom of my heart, because rain has gotten me so far in my own transition and if it weren't for Rain, I don't know where I would be right now. I've learned so much from you and I really must thank you.

Awesome Jocelyn!! Such a milestone. I started reading earlier this year and I've read the whole thing about 4 times I love it so much <3 and it's taught me so much too!! You really are amazing!

What are the bonus chapters though? - I don't recognise the covers. Are they in the books?
Jocelyn 30th Nov 2015, 9:02 AM edit delete reply

Yeah. The bonus chapters are exclusive to the books. So far, they all consist primarily of backstory (and I will probably continue that trend). The information they present might be interesting and add to character development, but they're in no way essential to understand the overall story. It's just fun, extra stuff. ^_^

As a transgendered young adult, your webcomic has really helped me since I started reading it (especially way back in Chapter 6 with the tips about coming out at a Halloween party which actually worked for me). Thank you and congratulations

You've come such a long way with you're artistic skills ^^ and they can only get better!
I can't wait to see how much this comic will advance in the future. I recommend it to all my friends by the way. Honestly I'm hoping you're comic goes longer than Homestuck XD

12 years today! Woo! Happy anniversary Rain!
Personally, I love this collage as it shows just how far the story has gone across so many chapters to this point in time. The cast has been through plenty, and grown considerably as people since the beginning (well, in *most* cases anyway... Kellen). This particular collage is a good reminder of that IMO.
