After two posts of two pages, we close the week with a single splash page. It's not really less content than normal though; this was just the most efficient way of presenting this information.
Anyway, I don't want to talk too much about this one. There's a lot to take from this, but I'd rather hear what stands out to you.
So Chase has a drinking problem and that's why he left Kellen. He could be very dangerous espicially if he is drunk when he confronts Emily... I'm worried for Emily
You're right. I hope Rain'll help her.
A serious confrontation or an emotional trauma could even alter her baby's grow... I think that Chase'll try to keep a low profile, but when he's drunk, he'll be able to do anything. Let's hope for the best.
The extra interesting thing and the part that really dooms Emily is that Fara is a mandatory reporter for anything that affects an underaged student and knowledge of statutory rape would one hundred percent qualify for that so legally Fara needs to report this to CPS or risk jail time.
Which means a lot of official focus on herself at a time when she's probably still trying to hide her pregnancy. Emily's life just got a lot more difficult even if Chase does nothing else. And well, of course he will, because he's a douche.
At this point, we know Chase had sex with Emily when she was 17, presumably in a state where the age of consent is 17. I'm not a lawyer, and I don't know the laws of NY, but it's possible that Fara does not yet know enough of their involvement for her mandatory reporting to kick in.
Though, for what it's worth, Emily is already overdue for coming out of the pregnancy closet. Her closet will burst if she tries to stay in much longer, and her best bet is a graceful exit from it. At this point, a graceful closet exit would be rough for her.
Whoo, that _is_ a lot to take in. If he has an alcohol problem, it's possible that he doesn't remember getting Emily pregnant, and wasn't lying to Jessica earlier. If that's the case, he's probably figuring out something awful, which might be the kick in the pants he needs to take his substance problem seriously.
I tried to befriend an alcoholic, who ended up excusing themself from my life. I was always encouraging this person to wean off the bottle, and I guess they didn't want to. It was a bizarre experience, and "seems to thrive on chaos" makes a lot of sense to me. Physical violence was never a worry for me with that person, for whatever that's worth.
Aiken doesn't know it, but it does seem that Chase is aware of something trans-y regarding Rain. Considering that one of Emily's clues was something Chase said to her.
