I'm not really sure what to say about this one. It's basically just a continuation of the last page. It was originally going to be a two pager with the last one, but I feel like there're a lot of those coming up, so I've been splitting them where they're not wholly required so I can focus on Volume 3 more. Plus, the mood is so different between them, they meshed weirdly to me.
Aiken's smart enough to say he's staying out of it for now, praise be. And I think once Aiken points out what the big deal is, not the hair, but rather trust, I think that's when Kellen really starts to listen. Because now she realizes that her efforts did naught but push the two of them (Rain (and by extension Fara) and Kellen, that is) apart when everyone in their family already has very little family to connect to. And notice how Aiken says it's on Kellen and Kellen alone to apologize-I think that's kind of a way to say "You should try to love your family no matter what, because without them, things get really hard." And I think it's both very true and a good lesson to take away for Kellen.
Heard about this comic because of the hair page. If for no other reason I'm glad it was there, but it was also excellent storytelling. I just finished reading all the previous pages. While my sleep schedule can get back to normal I'll be antsy waiting on updates. Thank you for this. It is beutiful.
Well, it looks like Aiken was able to say his piece and still have a couch to crash. I was wondering if he would end up in his car or staying at some "Rat Roof Inn" aka Motel 6, or some other run down residency motel. I knew he would say it either way. To Think, awhile back folks hated him, and Gavin for that matter! ;)
“It’s just hair." Come on Kellen, can’t you at least try to make sense? if you genuinely thought that was true, then I really don’t see what you hoped to gain by cutting it (T_T)
Sadly I can't drive so...;w;
But this one, this burn by Aiken, that's a 5.
