What a colorful page. I can't remember the last time I packed six relevant characters into one panel. XD
Okay, but being serious(ish), I know a lot of people were expecting Fara to come in and bring fury and rage down upon Kellen. It would've been too easy though, and too expected (and I don't want to feel like I'm promoting violence). Instead, have you ever gotten in SO MUCH trouble that your parents/teacher/whatever didn't yell... and somehow that was worse? They'd say something like, "I'm not mad. I'm disappointed." That's where Fara is.
That's kind of where everyone is, really. It's exhausting to argue with someone who doesn't listen. What's the point of fighting with her? They could present her with logic and reason until they're blue in the face, but it's only going to make her retaliate more. Sometimes the best way to shut someone up is to not fight back. Let them yell. Let them look and feel like a fool when they're the only one arguing.
Or take a page out of coolheaded Vincent's book, and be sweet as pie. Irrationally angry people HATE that. Especially when you "innocently" point out that their devious plan has utterly failed. XD
See that is what the MLP fandom is all about, we will "Love and Tolerate" trolls, haters, and people who just don't get it untill they give in and accept it or move on to something else
What vincent did is similar to what mlp fans do when someone is ignorant to an issue, instead of yelling he was nice and polite (mlp fans love and tolorate)
Oh man. Vincent and Kellen both just...perfect. Like, Kellen's going to need a Full Restore after those two burns. Now personally, I was expecting Fara to yell at Kellen for a while. But the way that went, that I think is so much more effective. And then she has to deal with Aiken, I would assume.
Well, that confrontation went well. Fara and Vincent both rocked this scene.
Rain will snap back, but well, we all kind of knew there would be some conflict come up somewhere on this trip.
Vincent was so me right there, "short haired girls are the cutest" that is both a true statement (especially true in this instance) and the kind of thing I would say both to encourage Rain and as a last little retort to Kellen.
Both. Plus she cannot admit to herself that she's wrong, because that would mean admitting that what she did was monstrous. Still, F & V almost got through to her.
Sorry about that. I have at least one reader named Chase who's pretty much said the same thing about that character too. Inevitably, someone somewhere is going to share a name with these antagonistic characters, making it very awkward for certain readers.
Rain's expression in the second panel is so spot-on, and it seems like it's not only a reaction to Kellen's arrival but also to Fara's calling her "the dragon;" it hurts to start antagonizing someone you feel like you should love, even if they deserve it.
Seriously though, I'm starting to love Vincent. He's like an adult Rudy, but with a PhD in psych.
And it is indeed.
You can see it in her eyes when she realizes who Vincent is.
It surely hurts when someone says your identity, and what you're fighting for, is a "disgusting hobby"...
Vincent rocks! (He rocks, he was in a band, got it? :p)
Hey, Jocelyn, when will I get to have you on my show?

So, seriously, sorry for that. ^^;
Touché. But there MAY have been a Tom Riddle (or certainly, there's at least been a few Toms in general reading those books). ;P
Would it fix anything? No, it'd make it worse. But it would make me feel a little better before breaking down.
Honestly, I know she will probably get better, that's what this comic is about (transition and acceptance) but still....
