This is officially Rain's new haircut which we will be seeing a lot of in the coming chapters. Like her long hair, I will probably have her change it around from time to time (more so with different accessories, because there's naturally not as much she can do style-wise), but this is kinda like the new default (like her braid, previously).
It's honestly a good thing I plan so far ahead, because it took years to find a style I was satisfied with. I must've gone through at least a hundred (maybe I'll post the scrapped styles someday). I would design a look and like it for weeks and then one day just be all, "NO! IT'S ALL WRONG!" But I think what made it hardest was that it wasn't supposed to be "perfect". I mean, I had to come up with a shoddy cut first (as "styled" by Kellen) that could be made into a final cut that was both cute and passable, and yet potentially questionable under certain circumstances. It might sound strange, but I still don't think I was completely sure about this look even when I drew this page. But as things go with me working on later pages, it's grown on me (you might notice in the coming pages, that I'll frequently have her facing different directions and angles so I can get used to this).
But enough of my mindless babble: what do YOU think?
I had a somewhat stressful morning. But my philosophy is to combat negativity with positivity. So in response to something making me sad or angry, I choose to do something that I think will make other people happy, thus breaking the negative cycle. ^_^
Nah. I try to not be mean and nasty in general. But when I was younger (or any time I've had to go off my Estrogen for a while), I had a really short temper. I don't like being that way, so I try to pretty much always be a nice person as much as I can. ^_^
It's actually quite similar to Kaminari's hair (albeit not green). I like the continued symbolism and connection between the two characters. Plus, it's pretty cute!
Hope your day gets better, Jocelyn, and thank you for the beautifully articulate and complex story.
Sadly, this page probably counts as the Wednesday one. No bonus page. :p
Rain's cute! I think you succeed in creating the look you were looking for. ^^
If you hide her body, the haircut is actually quite androgynous. It can be both a boyish-cute haircut for a girl, and a girly haircut attempt for a boy/early-transition transgirl...
So, one can assume the "and yet potentially questionable under certain circumstances" part is a success as well. Right now, though, Rain looks like a girl, that's for sure!
Just don't listen to what Kellen will probably say, and you'll be fine, Rain!
I got my hair cut at the beginning of summer to what hers looks like right now. I've had many people call me a boy (including people in my own marching band, but I had to explain that I "am a girl" because I haven't come out yet) but I would say I look a lot like rain (when you look at me face for two more seconds you can see I'm not cis-male). My chest is just a little less prominent because of my binding, and I purposefully don't dress girly.
She's still as adorable as ever, it's just getting used to seeing both her eyes...
You could at least give her an eye-patch to make the transition smoother ^^
It isn't as bad as I had feared. eventually it should grow back...poor Rain! Couldn't she do extensions or a weave thingy? What ever its called? It's not like it makes her look boy like.
She could do the inversion method. Give herself an extra inch a month and in three months she has all her hair back.
But I ween Jocelyn will more likely have her wearing a wig because she's more likely to face the 'classic' toils and adversities a trans person faces in life.
She looks like she should still pass. My concern is that her school will take issue with it. That having it below Maria's length is too "butch" or "lesbian" in their eyes.
Holy wow. I'm going to have to file that hairstyle away someplace for sure, for reasons.
But let me be the first to say that Rain looks absolutely adorable here. Like, holy crap. Can I get Emily's number, because she did a WONDERFUL job. It's a very passable look in my opinion. Like, if someone starts getting antsy about it, I'd be of the mind to punch them in the face, because girls can have short hair if they so please and still look girly, and Emily has mastered that concept with this style.
It's very cute, but there's one really galling thing about this. She can't tell people that someone cut it off against her will, because that would raise too many questions. So she's going to have to pretend that this short haircut, which she absolutely hates, was *her idea*. Gah.
Hsjzjdjsj she looks really cute! I dig the new look (even if it isn't by choice) love how she still looks like herself, And!!! That we get to see both eyes (symbolism? 👀)

So, early post it is. :)

@Jocelyn: You did a very good job on t he Rain's hair! WOW! Do you have any referances of t his hair cut in real life?
She's still pretty. But I really do like the long hair better.
*Please don't take this the wrong way where I think she looks better when she is a boy, cause it isn't I just like her with short hair*
