So, the US Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is now legal nationwide. As soon as I found out, I wanted to draw something. <3

Maria and Chanel are a bit young to be thinking about marriage, but they're the only known and prominent same-sex couple I have in the story at this time. And besides, I'm sure they'd be thrilled to hear this news too. ^_^

As soon as I saw the news this morning I was hoping you would make something mentioning it :)

Yay, and I still can't marry a man in germany. But in the US and every other country, I could. I hate it

Move to the German speaking part of Belgium ;)

But this is important news and a big step forward to more international recognition!

Hardly "every other country". But this is sadly ironic, because Germany was the birthplace of LGBT rights. Hope they catch up soon.

Just as an update from the future: this is now possible since 2017 - finally. And maybe even the "Selbstbestimmungsgesetz" is going to be reality this year!

Aw so cute. And I'm happy for same sex couples they deserve to be married.

Knew you'd have something prepared and it's just beautiful. :)

I live in France, where same-sex marriage is already legal, but that's super-awesome! \o/

"Dude, she's the cutest lesbian ever". ~

Gay marriage has been legal in Massachusetts since 2004, so although the decision is amazing news, it only actually changes anything in 14 of the fifty states where there was a ban on gay marriage xP.

Sadly, my state being one of them. Been fighting in my area (Sadly, a good portion of that with family) to get this for a long time. When I heard the news, I could not suppress the squees of delight. Yes, there was actual squeeing and jumping and clapping. Like I was a little kid.

Are you gonna put this news in the comic?! :D

I think the story is supposed to still be in February 2013. So it'd be way too early for such news.

My sister told me and I was so hyped! Going through social media and laughing at ousts showing other posts by homophobes saying "Welp I'm moving to Canada" because given the circumstances, that's such a logically sound decision.
Tualha 27th Jun 2015, 6:38 AM edit delete reply
They should move to Russia and Uganda.

Now Australia needs to follow suit.

I find marriage over all to be completely stupid, however, I can see the appeal even if I dont fully understand it. I do wish to know what took the surpreme court so freaking long to declare the most logical decision as law? As for the 4 judges that voted against this, well, they have now been labeled and will be, sooner or later, villians in some movie, novel, or story. History may or may not be kind to these 4.

Awwwwww Chanel and Maria are soooo CUTE :D Also, I'm really liking the ponytail hairstyles on the two of them

Maybe that's a Black Ring? I haven't seen Chanel wearing one.

man, it´s surreal to binge through this in 2020 and see how recent the date is

I know right? The comment about homophobes moving to Canada above is hilarious given that Canada would have approved same sex marriage 10 years earlier. It's crazy though.

Im reading this for the first time while lgbtq, especially trans, rights are under attack and Roe V Wade is about to be overturned, with Obergefell being next in line. Seeing this and knowing that this celebratory news is now in danger once more, I have to hope we can continue to hold on to this.

^This! And the possibility of being taken away some of these achievements, fills my eyes with tears.
