Except Jessica is the one leaning forward here. She's the one initiating (and somewhat unexpectedly, gauging by Heather's reaction). Does this mean she's questioning? Does this mean she's not hetero after all? Or is this simply experimentation? Or desperation? Or both?
Or just tomorrow's hangover regret?
So before you all start sailing your ships or ranting over how there are too many queer characters in my queer comic, consider all the factors of what's going on. Because there is a lot to think about here. Also, sorry to say, but be prepared to think about it for a while, because we will not be seeing them again for the rest of this chapter.
One last thing. Speaking of chapters, the current one is titled "Of Cons and Kisses". In the 37 pages of this chapter so far, there's been a fair bit of our heroine at the con, but kissing seems to have been rather absent. Is THIS scene what the chapter title is referring to? Sort of. I mean, it says "Kisses", so there could be more between other characters coming up...
Could it also be Hershey's Kisses? Because those are awesome too.
All joking aside, there are a lot of factors to consider here. I think it's purely experimental. And besides, people tend to do things they normally wouldn't when they are drunk. if they are feeling a genuine questioning of their sexuality, then the alcohol might simply be acting as sort of a lubricant for this situation.
Anything could happen from here. From my own speculation, Aiken and Jessica could get back together. Maybe Jessica will try things out with Heather to further explore herself.
This is a pretty good time to see how things are going with other characters though! :D
This was a nice outcome for the Jessica/Heather shippers ...but I think this is just a tomorrows hangover regret and not something serious, besides "Feather" for the win ^_^ (that would be Fara/Heather to any non shippers out there)
My first thought is that it was Jessica giving Heather the chance to experiment, despite not being interested herself. "You want to see what it's like? Here."
Well, this is totally off topic to what's at hand, but if AT LEAST Gavin doesn't find out Ana's transgender, I'm going to do something I've never done: I'll have to write a fan-fiction.
Is it possible to edit/delete the comment that i'm replying to, because the comment is (for lack of a better word) stretching the page thus moving the comic page off screen
My theory: Sexuality and attraction are spectra, and nobody ever fits nicely into a single box labeled "straight", "gay", "pan", "bi", "trans", "kinky", et al.
The way I see it is that any label that applies to someone as for their identities is in fact up for the person to define themselve. That applies for everything, words as "boy" and "girls" of course, but also for attraction. You can be asexual even if you have had sex or even if you enjoy it sometime. And you can be straight even if you want to kiss someone the same gender as you :p
As for Jessica, I follow the theories in the comments who said it was just in order to show Heather what it would be like.
I'd love to see a poly relationship in this serie that is for sure ^ç^
Sorry if I sound like the ignorant little kid, but can someone explain what a poly relationship is? I saw it said in some of the other comments but don't know what it is, thanks!
I think I like this, but gosh, it's also the most terrifying potential disaster that we've seen to date, I think. Heather does seem to have gotten a lot more...chill, though? And I have to wonder if Jessica being trans has already crossed her mind. I'm sure if she had ever just said so we would've seen it, but Heather reading into some of the other stuff she knows-that Jessica is sort of close to Fara and Rain, can't have kids, and had a breakup so awful that she won't say anything about it-doesn't seem particularly unlikely...
So, here's my thinking now that I've read this page for the sixth time.
Jessica making this motion is some form of combo between 1)her trying to get over Aiken, 2) the realization that Heather might not be straight, 3) the idea that maybe Jessica could try not to be and see how that works, and 4) the alcohol lowering her inhibitions enough to act on all three earlier points.

with the mix of depression and the fact she's drunk it was going to happen.
... But who knows, Maybe this is all in her head right now and this never really happened ^_^
I've been there and the next day never turns out good.
just in case it can't get fixed, you can view the comic from here.

It would certainly solve the "love triangle" problem if the three people in the triangle just agreed to be in a poly relationship together.

A "poly" relationship is short for "polyamorous"
I don't even know what happened there. Mental crossed wires or something. At least I posted the correct Wikipedia link:

Apologies for the mistake.
It was foretold to become CANONICAL!
Edit almost a year later: Woooot! go Jessica! I now ship them XD
