In today's random character cameos, we have three random nobodies in the first panel (the three non-cosplaying ones). Then there're two somebodies (the ones in cosplay with dialogue). They are Roland and Callista from a not too old fantasy epic of mine, Impure. Well, cosplayers dressed like them, anyway. I considered a few other characters from other stories for this bit, but I mostly went with them because of Callista in particular. I don't oft use the skimpy armor look for characters, but I happened to want to try it with her when designing her character a few years back. And when it came time for this con arc, her design felt necessary. Can't have a convention without some young lady in scantily clad cosplay, right?
Anyway, I don't know if lines for big events or high profile celebrities like this are common or rare, but I have heard stories about this kind of thing. Whatever the case may be, Rain wouldn't miss this chance for anything. And if it means not having to listen to Kellen for a few hours, neither would Emily. XD
Lulu.com is holding a sale from now through February 4th for 30% off all items, up to and of course including Volumes 1 and 2 of Rain. When you're ordering, just be sure to type GOPHIL into the Coupon Code box to apply the deal and get 30% off your purchase.
That's one of the big problems with cons, they have just become too big for their own good. At leased everyone can take a break from Kellen. Perhaps she'll cool off a bit. I just love where the story is going!
Probably better if Emily and Kellen stay away from each other for a while. Emily MIGHT be able to help educate Kellen a little more (or at least become a bit more open), but the constant bickering would just erode Emily's sanity too much.
I get the impression that Rain is actually handling Kellen's idiocy better than Emily. Rain is basically happy to fixate on the con, whilst Emily is fuming and looks ready to slit something of Kellen's. Possibly her throat, or more likely just her remarks.
I don't think Rain's' been fully exposed to it yet, though. She didn't hear what Kellen said to Emily earlier about "playing along" and "creepy perversions".
I'm hoping that Aiken and Kellen will get some alone time and that Aiken will continue trying to get Kellen to stop being so bigoted and obstinately close-minded. I imagine Aiken will be way more patient and up for the job than Emily since a) Kellen's his sister and b) he used to think the way she does now, so he gets where she's coming from. Idk, hopefully Aiken's 180 can be replicated in Kellen if he keeps trying to explain to Kellen what he's learned and why he realizes that he was wrong. Whereas I feel like Emily's just given up at this point (and I don't blame her tbh)
I hope big lines aren't a common thing at cons, I plan on going to one this spring and want to enjoy everything there is to do and see without standing in long lines
In my experience, at a big con there'll be events with long lines, and ones without. I avoid the ones with lines; even if it was a panel I wanted to go to, I'm not going to wait half an hour or more. (I hate lines.) I've got no interest in autographs, so that helps.
No lines for the art or dealer rooms, of course, or for hanging in the hall gawking at cosplay. :)
This is honestly why I stopped getting autographs unless it's someone really famous (Noizi Ito last year omg).
But anyways, hoping for some Rain/Emily standing in line bonding. I find some of the best conversations happen while standing in line because you simply have to. I'm almost disappointed the people she's standing in line behind are white-outs (I dunno what else to call em). I was hoping for some con penpals or something.

@jocelyn love the hair btw ^^
