Meanwhile, the other non-sleeping people in this apartment also stay up late chatting with each other. It's not like they're all going to need that energy to walk around a crowded convention tomorrow or anything. Meh, it's plot. I'm sure they'll be fine. ;P

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Really starting to like Aiken right now. Meanwhile Kellen is just being difficult on purpose.

Jocelyn, do i get your permission to give Kellen a slap on her face?
Canadian Guy 23rd Dec 2014, 10:36 PM edit delete reply
Oh come on you know Jocelyn going to turn her around into someone we were not expecting, look at Emily when this comic started and what you thought of her then compare to now

I know, that's why i ask permission, instead of just doing it. (of course, not literally, because then my computer screen would be damaged)

Was Kellen about to use the right pronoun for once or was that "her" in reference to Emily?
Guest 24th Dec 2014, 11:39 AM edit delete reply
She was about to say "her" in reference to Rain because that's the pronoun Aiken used. But then she realized what she was saying and had to be stubborn and transphobic.

I get the distinct impression that Kellen is handling a disconcerting revelation by remaining in denial, and consequently being a pain in the backside to everybody else.

I'm so glad that at least Aiken is making an effort to support Rain <3 I wish I could say the same for Kellen but I'll hold onto the hope that she'll turn around and support Rain in due course.

You should remember that Aiken has already lost one person he loves due to his old point of view. Kellen hasn't had the same lose yet. Give it time. ^_^

I see where this is going...that's clever, Jocelyn.

...I just realized: cons tend to have a lot of cross-dressing cosplayers.

This... should be interesting.

Am I the only one who actually got hopeful when I saw the second to last panel?
That slip up doesn't go unnoticed by me, Kellen

Interesting developments... I look forward to the next update.

Also Merry Christmas everyone

For those angry at Kellen, remember how Aiken used to act. Redemption takes time.

Also, HOLY CRAP THERE IS INTERNET IN RAINIVERSE?! Somebody is actually doing RESEARCH on trans people to understand them better?!
Yuki-chan 24th Dec 2014, 10:40 AM edit delete reply
Maria also commented to have made some research.

Emily was shown researching sexuality way back when we were shown that she was pansexual.

Yes, but remember that Kellen has known almost as long as Aiken has. Aiken's been working on it. Kellen hasn't.
Guest 24th Dec 2014, 1:33 PM edit delete reply
Here's what I say to you, Kellan. "Ho ho ho, merry Shitscram."
Tualha 5th Jun 2015, 5:59 PM edit delete reply
Ah, Kellen, Kellen, Kellen. You know someone's a flaming transphobe when *Aiken* is sounding like the good guy in comparison. He really is trying and I think he'll be okay eventually. She's not trying at all. (Well, actually, she's very trying. In that sense of the word.)

Kellen...Kellen...I've wanted to say this since the chapter has begun...just WHY can't you appreciate being the biological female you are, the privilige you were given to be, and HELP your SISTER to be the best girl, instead of rejecting her?! Why can't SHE be a girl just like you?!?
Some Ed 15th Jun 2017, 7:00 PM edit delete reply
Like most of the rest of your readers, I'm not a fan of Kellen's position. But I do feel this is a very good depiction of someone who has this perspective, and I like the fact that no trans people have to be involved in this conversation for it to possibly move in a good direction.

I guess there sort of is a cure in a sense. Transitioning. Still transgender in that one's identity doesn't match what was assigned at birth/physiologically appeared to be. But now the identity and body do match... Which could sort of be called a 'cure' (if one thinks of it as a physical condition).
Waffle 5th Aug 2022, 12:48 PM edit delete reply
"Is there a cure?" is pretty much always "I don't want to go to any effort to accommodate this person's needs". (About the only major exception is (sometimes) if the person is asking about a condition they themself have.) Not the most sympathy-inducing thing Kellen could have said.
