Ah, It's good that Colin referred to Rain as Fara's Niece instead of Nephew. Goes to show that after initial bad reactions, people can get over it and learn to accept others.
Well, he doesn't look like hateful prick to me.
Did Colin ever refer to Rain as nephew, Zackwell?
Am I only one who thinks Fara was to quick to sink the ship in the past? Possibly using Rain as excuse out of fear of commitment without even realizing it?
It was implied that Fara told Colin about Rain's secret off-screen, and that he didn't take it well. Rain is like Fara's daughter; if Colin couldn't accept Rain for who she was, then there was no point in continuing the relationship.
All thats implied is that he had problem with Rain. Its possible it had nothing to do with her being transgendered. Perhaps Fara wanted them to adopt her if they were to get married, and he didn't want to be burdened with somebody's kid.
And even if he has issue with transgender people, we don't know if he's been that bad at all. After all, Fara doesn't seem to differentiate between well meaning people, who just don't understand concept of gender dysphoria, since its first time they encountered it, and actual genuinely evil "bash 'em perverts heads off" bigots.
For all we know, he said "Trangendered? Is that what they call gay nowadays?"
Which is offensive and stupid, if said with actual malice behind it, and not just confusion.
I know your comment is old, but anyway... You have it backwards. A ship having sailed means that there is no longer a relationship between those people. Therefore, There is still a chance for Fara and Vincent.
A lot of people did. Don't sweat it too much. Just a very subtle plot point that thought was all clever when I wrote it, and ended up being TOO subtle. ^^;
I've explained it a couple times, but admittedly only out of canon. I'm going to opt not to clarify right now though because it will finally be explained IN canon really quite soon. If possible, I'd much rather just have the characters do the talking. ^_^
I've been wondering about if he'd come to terms with it for a while now. And about the tickets. It's funny how I seem to notice the subtle stuff a lot of people miss, but completely miss the obvious stuff.

I have to say, it's not bad at all. I've enjoyed it thus far.
