Sorry for the slight delay, everyone. Technical difficulties. Thankfully I was able to get things ironed out though. My record of no missed updates to date is maintained! ^_^
Anyway, now that we’re finally learning a little bit about Ana, what do we actually know? Anything remarkable or is she just an average girl? Any subtly hinted secrets or does she have nothing to hide? Thoughts?
The RainComicStore on Etsy is holding a charity promotion this week courtesy of my lovely wife, Kelly! There's never been a better time to get yourself a pride scarf!
Scarves featured include your choice of pride colors signifying Trans, Gay, Bi, Pan, Ace or Genderqueer! And new in this week: Genderfluid and Hetero! Others coming soon, and as always, we're open to suggestion!
With the sheer amount of stuff Ana is listing, it seems like she's actually trying to discourage Gavin, and her aggressive attitude in the last panel, "All right, have it your way!", it seems to be an indication of frustration.
Also, she mentioned her dad, but not her mom. She said "I'm hoping we can stay here though" without specifying who "we" is.
Thats just poorly substantiated speculation. What I know from experience is that kids who move around a lot tend to end up fairly lonely, sometimes avoiding getting to know others just so they don't get depressed when they leave later on. Kids who move around a lot seem to (in my observations) have tense relationships with their guardians due to all the endeavors they're put through with constant moves.
So yeah, I imagine she could have a lot of family issues and difficulty making friends. Hopefully Gavin can get her out of her shell though.
A random thought not related to this comic specifically, but sorta relevant--I get the impression that, somewhere in the comic, Rain will eventually go on a date with Gavin, despite her not liking guys, and Gavin will totally tell Maria, "Oh, by the way, you owe me ten bucks." :P (Or maybe twenty.)
