Get it? “Hung up”? Oh man, that’s punny. (Or, you know, terrible…) I had a few other titles in mind, but I just couldn’t resist the stupid joke. -_-
I hope you don’t mind the whole “phone conversation” thing. I feel like I use it a lot in this chapter. Admittedly I debated turning this specific scene into an IM conversation just to break it up, but figured it’d be more dramatic to actually have Gavin and Maria physically yelling at each other. Verbal rage for the win (I guess).
I really like this page because I feel like it’s something ANYONE can relate to (making it so delightfully frustrating). I mean, they’re arguing with each other, but they’re kind of on the same side… it’s just a different view from the same side. If they just shut up for a second and listened to each other instead of trying to make their own point, they might even see that.
I think he "Like likes" Rain, and that's what is confusing him. And I get this.
For too many, we are boys who believe we are girls. (Especially if we are "pre-op".) So, if they, a cis-male, find us attractive... Does that make them gay!!?!
The answer is, of course, no. But they question themselves, they worry over their masculinity. It's not correct, and I would like to believe that not all of them have this conflict, but I imagine that there are a lot of hetero-cis-males who do.

and I'm not going to tell you what it is.
Eh... the size limit on the name stopped me in the middle...
As a cishet man I can gladly confirm not all of us have this conflict. That being said, I'm definitely not proud of this one... 2011 might have been before I learned what being trans actually means, when I thought it was just another term for drag queens/kings.
I did know by age 17 but that was thanks to being close to someone who was out and actively part of the LGBT community who told me.
