I was having trouble focusing on drawing Rain yesterday. Rather than working through it, I went about browsing DA. It was then that I stumbled upon this "What's in My Bag" meme. Just as it sounds, it consists of drawing oneself, with your bag, and all of its contents. I dunno. It's kinda silly, right? I mean, who cares?
But it manages to be a really cute idea all the same, and was just endearing enough for me to HAVE to do. Also, I figured it can't hurt to draw something that's NOT Rain once in a while. And I hadn't drawn myself in a while. And I thought it might be fun to draw all the little knick-knacks in my bag. Okay, I love the idea of this meme. Shut up; don't judge me. XD

So, yeah. I don't have a purse or pocketbook or anything. I strut around with my Starman bag which I obtained basically free with points from buying too many video games. On the one hand, a true purse might be nicer eventually. On the other, it's a pretty sweet bag and a great conversation starter. Plus, now that I present female, I'm taken less seriously as a gamer (even if I probably could school most those critics), so I've got to up my gamer cred at least a little.
I feel like most of the contents are pretty basic and self explanitory, and barely worth mentioning. The most unusual thing is probably my book. I do indeed carry Rain - Volume 1 around with me everywhere. And I have on many occasions whipped it out in conversations. "Oh, you're an author? What's it called?" Insert exaggerated book whipping sound effect here. My Volume 1 has a fair bit of wear and tear from being passed around so much, so I look forward to switching it out for Volume 2 soon enough.
Looking at other people's contributions to this meme (just search "What's in My Bag"), it seems I carry a lot less than average. I still feel like I've got kind of a lot though, so I dunno.

Not shown above, I mysteriously forgot to draw my cleaning cloth (for my glasses) and my Sharpie marker (different from the regular pen), just in case I'm ever asked to sign a copy of Rain for someone. It's only ever happened once, but I wasn't prepared when it did, so I like to keep on that now.
I do not carry makeup. I did once, but a container wasn't properly sealed and it got ugly in there. I wear it (I have to), but I'm not normally out long enough to need to touch it up again, so there's no sense in taking it along and risking getting powder or whatever on EVERYTHING. I really SHOULD have a comb or a brush though. My hair loves to go everywhere I don't want it to... -_-
I USED to carry pads. Kinda like Rain. If you know me, obviously I have no use for them. But if you're a trans girl trying to go stealth, they're great to have for face value (being stealth isn't important to me anymore though, so for me there's no point in carrying them).

I'm actually really glad I did this. If nothing else but to distract from the literary knife twist that is the most recent page of Rain. Hopefully, this is colorful and light-hearted enough to make up for it.
And that's that, I guess. This has been entirely too much information with Jocelyn Samara. I hope you all enjoyed learning what I apparently carry around with me.
It wouldn't have been my first pick for a Mega Man theme (I'd have sooner picked Flash Man, Bright Man or Cossack Castle 2, myself), but I certainly wasn't going to gripe. It was definitely the best option I could find.
Ok, it's an old post, but I just have to answer. I've just recently started to read Rain (from the start) since founding it and gotten so far in just a couple of days.
But as I was to say, I was sure I wasn't the only one carrying a phone with a ringtone from the best game ever. The main difference is that I have the main theme of MM3.
Rock on :). I'll continue reading your artwork. The story is great, I'll probably look to order the books in a while.
My five o'clock shadow is unfortunately still visible after shaving. I have to wear make up (mainly foundation), just to make sure I'm not being treated like a man. It works, so I keep wearing it.
I look forward to the day when I don't have to wear make up to leave the house, but I'm not ready for that, personally.
I have the same Nintendo bag. I was using it as my bag whenever I went out girl-mode too, until I moved recently (can't do girl-mode now). Good selections of ringtones too. Not what I chose the last time I had a phone with more than three stock ringtones, but good choices regardless.
Lol, the wallet. It's ok, I still have a lot of things from my girly days, I mean, A LOT. I'm meaning to sell some of it, I'm just really bad at letting go of things.... even if it is Disney Princess dolls......
I'd welcome it. Not that I'm saying, "hey stranger, buy me something!" But if you wanted to do so, I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Can't say I do on either account. I happen not particularly be into Tekken, and I've just never played Animal Crossing before. ^^;
Probably pink or red.
