Can I just say I love these two pages. We learn quite a lot about Emily here, and just a dash about her prior experience with Maria. Of course the details are still a bit fuzzy, but you should kinda get the idea. As for everyone else though, much of what Emily references goes way back.
The enormity of Emily's situation just hit me. She's recognizing everything she ever did wrong, admitting her family issues to people who don't know her all that well, and going so far as to sincerely beg on the ground for forgiveness. Rain is hardly a melodramatic comic, which means Emily's life must be so far down the drain that she's having a spiritual death and rebirth of sorts.
Wow. Oh my god, Wow!! This... this was the hardest page for me to read. I felt every word of what Emily said. I really did not see her getting down to beg Maria's forgiveness. And to learn they used to be friends? Ooph! You're killing me.
Wow, I did not see Emily and Maria previously being friends coming. Nor just how deep and heartfelt Emily's apology would be. I expected when she turned up that it'd lead to her apologising, but quite like this.
I didn't need to click on the links you posted. I was able to imagine each scene you referred to. I will say I only started this comic series three days ago (on Sep 29th, 2021). You are an excellent storyteller. Many of your scenes are memorable. Especially my favorite one: "I AM A FLAMING DYKE!"
it's worth noting that while they have never directly interacted, back during the drama between him and Maria during Rain's first week, Emily did describe Gavin as a jerk. so we do have precedence for her not thinking highly of him.
Dang. Q_Q
Her gender is, at least based on all evidence from over a thousand pages, female.
Thank you much :)
