In case you missed the memo, you can actually get Rain's shirt for yourself right here. Yes, you can pick other colors besides black, if you want. Yes, the design is also available on books, mugs, stickers, pins and more if you prefer. Yes, there's other Rain-based designs available at my RedBubble store if that one's not specifically for you. And yes, I am working on adding more stuff soon. Please check it out! ^_^
If i remember correctly, its what was on the character from the manga authors earlier manga's cover's cheek. Im guessing that got worked into the anime, and Rain decided to put it on her.
Any chance of the Pretty Heckin' Gay design getting some other flags? Not that I'm complaining, but a rainbow and/or lesbian flag design would make a much less awkward item for the cis siblings in the community, and those trans folks who would prefer to be ambiguous of exactly how gay they are.
I wonder if Fara goes by Mrs. Bryer-Valverde in her classroom now? Like, does she make her students say all 7 syllables, or is she one of those cool art teachers that just goes by her first name lol
I kinda doubt that. Because everybody wants to see all the character grown up, and the tone isn't very serious either. I think reunion with her friends makes more sense seeing as this is the end of Rain. Also given what we have seen, I'd imagine Kellan would've apologized at least once within the past 6 years.
"Because everybody wants to see all the character grown up"
Is it weird if I kinda really don't want to see that? I still feel like Chapter 42 was the best send-off for most (if not all) of those characters, and would be happy if that's where the story leaves most of them. Sure, there were a lot of unanswered questions, but I think most of those are better left up to interpretation, and showing where the characters are now can take some of that away.
For what it's worth, I don't think it's weird. There's a lot of value in leaving some things unanswered. Incidentally, some things will still be left up to interpretation in Rain as well. There's just, for my part, a few dangling threads I didn't want to leave among the unanswered.
Chapter 44, and what comes to happen here, is ultimately how I want to conclude the story. I'm personally pleased with the ending I've come up with and I think a lot of people will like it. That said, I also expect there's gonna be a lot of other people who probably come to classify Chapter 42 or 43 to be the "superior ending". I don't mind. This is a story for everyone, and we all have unique and valid opinions.
In fact, when the story's done, I think it'd be a really interesting discussion to have with people. ^_^
I really love the same old new Fara. Also, like many other I'm guessing a reunion of all her old friends so we get to see everyone and how they are all doing. And I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but I wonder if they all still live together. We know Rain still lives in the same house, and I know Fara's probably calling from work, but I think it would be cool if Fara and Vincent wanted a new place to live, and left the house for Rain, Emily and Lydia. Just a really long thought 😁
if it is something she may conveniently forget she is probably meeting with her family. I know I would like to get out of that sometimes. even when they seem supportive it can still be draining
Wait, Vincent's folks named a kid Vivian Valverde? Chalk getting rid of that as another advantage of his transition. Like rococo furniture, it's not ugly, it's very pretty, there's just too much of it in one place.
I have a question. Vincent's displayed no animosity toward his old name, and referred to his pre-transition days as "back when I was Vivian". Would it be appropriate for us readers to refer to pre-transition Vincent as Vivian, since it's what he himself does, or would it still be rude?
It's a case by case basis, but honestly, I don't think many trans folk would appreciate that. Speaking personally, I'm no stranger to talking about my pre-transition days and freely dropping my old name for context. But also, I don't really want other people getting comfortable calling me that. It's a name I don't mind speaking myself to describe a certain time of my life, but it's not something I want to be called (I hope that makes sense).
I'm sure there's some exceptions out there who may feel differently, but in favor of veering away from any kind of deadnaming, I'd avoid calling him Vivian. It's just different if he does it. If we're talking about his younger pre-transition days, I think "young Vincent" or "pre-transition Vincent" would be the way to go.
Same for any of the other trans characters in this comic, too. :)
That makes total sense. So as a ground rule, treat name and pronoun changes as retroactive unless told to do something different, and don't try to get too clever about it. That's how Rudy outed Ryan. Gotcha. Thank you.
Can I still call Mr. Bryer "Manriel", or is that getting too clever about it?
Best drop it. If I have to ask, I'm probably trying to be too clever, and I've left some very elaborate comments lately that were disasters since I was trying to be too clever.
hi! i’ve followed this comic for a long while, basically since i learned about lgbtq+ topics as a whole, and, homestly, i just wanna say something. Rain, this entire comic, has all helped me become, well, me- a trans girl- and I’ve only recently been doing more things to actively pass or come out to people I care about. This has given me courage and reassurance that things are gonna get better for me- and that I’m always gonna have someone around.
thank you so much for this wonderful content and i hope you keep making more!

a lot of you are saying its a reunion with her old friends, but i don't feel like she would avoid that. personally, i think it's a reunion with her entire class (plus anyone connected to them). it makes more sense as something she'd avoid since she's a bit more open about being trans and its possible some of them might have seen her videos.
Nope! Never! NFTs are a blight and I will not ever support nor contribute to them. If you ever see my art being used in one, you can safely assume it was stolen.
It's not. That is absolutely false. A lot of NFT art is stolen, actually. The art gets sold, and the payment instead goes to the seller, while the artist is lucky if they even know the transaction happened. So it's not a good way for the artist to get paid. NFTs have actually just made art theft more common, and made it harder for talented artists to make money.
If you want to support artists, please commission them to draw you something. Or buy their merch directly from the artist who made it. There is already a great way to pay artists for their work: paying them for their work! NFTs do not help the artists, period.
Nevermind all the chip shortage stuff caused by NFTs, or the fact that it's awful for the environment. There's just truly nothing good about NFTs.
DISCOVERY: The mark on Rain's face is the same as a character from Black wings Kaminari; specifically it's the black winged man who nearly overthrew the kingdom a few centuries ago, as seen on chapter 1402.
Everyone is here guessing 'high school/family reunion' have we forgotten that with the gap in time (if we pretend its like our world for a minute) that gay marriage and the like is now a thing that isnt as illegal as it used to be? It could be a wedding she is going to (doesnt have to be a gay wedding either, just saying thats a possibility too) and with enough people possibly making a crowd, its possible that Rain who is now a streamer working from home (we assume) her social anxiety could still be in full swing, hence the 'forgetting to go' joke
Well, I'm not actually surprised. But yeah. Still excites me to have it addressed on canon
It has to be a tattoo
It's makeup. But we'll hear more about it later. ^_^
I can't wait to find out the meaning behind it
From the blurb above: "And yes, I am working on adding more stuff soon." ;)
if my mom lets me anyways :)I imagine Fara would absolutely be the sort of cool teacher who'd tell her students to say whatever. Fara. Mrs. Bryer. Mrs. Valverde.

And I am with the others predicting this will be a meetup of all of Rain's high school friends.
