To be fair, Emily is not in the most enviable position. Even if she is excited for this, and even if she's lucky enough to have so much support right now, it's still got to be super scary for her. But at least she's keeping a positive attitude and she won't be alone.

Thoughts on all this?

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

After a little hiatus of her own, the French translation ofRain is back (courtesy of the efforts of my friend, Mia)! We're up to 15 chapters now live as of this weekend! ^_^

While I know most of you can and probably do already read in English, the option is there if you're bilingual, or if you know anyone who is more comfortable reading in French that you think might enjoy the story. I invite you to share this with anyone you think this might benefit. ^_^

It would be interesting seeing Emily and Rain as parents, seeing them trying to balance their education and family time. Let's just hope they'll be alright.

I know people who have gone through grad school with kids. It's hard and there's no way around it .

I would think loans/grants and homework would be a lot more time with her baby than a job.

Who's Lydia? The baby? What did I miss?
Jocelyn 27th Sep 2021, 10:58 AM edit delete reply

Lydia's the baby. Emily first dropped the name earlier in the chapter, but to be fair, I took a hiatus partway through and it's been a while now. My bad. ^^;

Anyway, you can find that page here. ^_^

Ok I know this isn’t what most people are talking about but Maria’s concerned face is adorable
Absentia 28th Sep 2021, 2:23 AM edit delete reply
as much as Maria didn't like Emily at first, she's been concerned since the very moment she learned about hte pregnancy. Maria's a good person.

Yes, I wasn't saying that Maria isn't a good person. She's my favorite character, actually. Good job Jocelyn for making awesome characters that we get attached to!

i started reading this comment like 3 or 4 years ago when i randomly found it online. at the time, i ended up reading all the way to the end and i stopped because there wasnt anymore and i got too lazy to keep checking on it. now im reading it again with my best friend (who also happens to be trans and ive known him since before i started reading) and its great to finally have someone to talk about this comic with (i only showed it to him like 4 days ago) i am sad to see that its almost over though (i dont actually know if its almost over but im assuming it is. i havent read in over a year or two so i have no idea whats going on)

From what's been said I believe this is the last quarter but this is not the last chapter, like I think there is a few more left maybe?

Having a kid will change the life not just for the mother, but for everyone within a throwing distance of the kid. As someone who lives under the same roof with a couple and their toddler, you will be helping out too whether you like it or not. It is round the clock once the baby is born until they become independent. But it also depends on the kid and their personality, and also if Emily is going to school, she cannot do that without a good army of babysitters, friends and family helping out while she studies.

So yeah, it's not easy.
