In case you're wondering where Emily got the name for her kid, well, she must have picked it up from somewhere. As I mentioned in that page's blurb, this was actually a name I'd always loved and wanted to use for a character, but kinda reserved it for if I'd ever had a child myself. I've accepted that that's not happening at this point, so I'm glad I can finally justify using it here for someone else's child. ^_^
The middle name, though, I agonized over for a while. I love the first name, but I noticed it doesn't flow super well with a lot for middle names. I considered one other for a long time, but declined kinda last minute because of reasons I'll have to go over on a later date. But I hope you like the name as a whole. Needless to say, I think it's lovely myself. ^_^
The other thing I wanna mention is panel 4. I don't know if this is going to sound weird, but that panel gave me some crazy déjà vu. So I don't know if I've already had Emily go over this before and I forgot where (because I can't seem to find such a dialogue), or if it's something I'd maybe written into the script earlier that never actually made it onto a completed page.
So, if this conversation did in fact already happen, I'm very sorry for being redundant. I feel sure it at least works contextually because I'm certain whoever she previously told wasn't Blair (and also, there is still new information on this page otherwise).
And if this conversation did not previously happen, then ignore these last few paragraphs. I'm just losing it, is all. (It's kinda scary forgetting the plot beats to the story I myself wrote, but maybe that's inevitable when you're writing anything for over a decade.) XD
Yay, someone else who knows music theory! My favorite mode is phrygian! (Probably because I use it a lot these days since I got into more flamenco style pieces.)
Lydia's middle name reminds me of my best friend in college. His parents named him Will so he'd always have at least one free Will when he needed it.
Sure, the name isn't Lydia Win, but I'd say that's more to avoid the teasing that would probably trigger. (My middle name came from a chipmunk, so I know all about middle names triggering being teased.)
No, no "whether or not". If her kid falls into water, she needs to be able to rescue. If she falls into water she needs to be able to swim so she doesn't die. There should be no "whether or not" when it comes to swimming.
Wow for some reason I really expected the story to end before Emily had her baby. But it looks like I was totally wrong about that. I’m surprised at how chill she is being. I’d honestly be freaking out haha and I’m not even a teenager.
Lydia is such a pretty name! I hope she'll grow up safe and happy. ^^
Here's the direct link for those of you looking for it.
Thanks for catching it. Fixed now.
Also, she is very pretty here <3
That's my oldest daughter's name!
Lydia Madison.
