This is an odd one. It almost feels like a two pager because it covers two different topics. Just, like, a short one. XD

So, first up, Vincent doesn't seem worried at all about Rain. Obviously, she wouldn't enjoy being deadnamed, but it might not break her down today, as it might've in the beginning of the year. She proved that with a big grin at prom. Do you think he's right, though? Graduation is very different setting from prom, so maybe it hits different? Then again, there's no guarantee she'll be deadnamed anyway. There's a lot of variables here.

On the second half of the page, Jess starts talking about a new apartment prospect. In case you've forgotten, Jess has recently brought up the intent to move out. She thinks it's time to move on. Plus it gives Emily, Rain, and Fara more space for the baby. It's beneficial for everyone. And apparently, we're learning she's moving to a new place with Heather and Ky. That'll probably be easier for them too.

But, as the last panel asks: What about Fara? She's talked about wanting to look into a new place too. How the current apartment was only really meant for her and her neice. Not four adults (nor three plus a baby)...

Lots to discuss today. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Also, couple quick notes: Yes, there will still be a page on Friday. I've posted on holidays before, and I'll do it again. I truly can't think of any reason not to. ^_^

While we're at it, why don't you come back tomorrow too? I may have a special little "Christmas miracle" in store for you. ;P

I love that Ky is a good enough negotiator to get the big bedroom for themselves!

And, poor Fara... she seems so uncertain at the moment.

fara's surely been doing alot to take the pressure off rain. so as long as rain progresses into responsibiity, it feels to me like fara will be able to enjoy the time more.

Getting the big bedroom doesn't always take negotiation.

I share an apartment with a lesbian couple. It seemed like a no brainer that they'd get the big bedroom.

But they had a different opinion: I worked from home (still do, but now they do as well thanks to SARS2), and giving me the big bedroom would give me enough space to put my home office in my bedroom. This would allow me to work late without being a disruption in the rest of the apartment (and me working late sometimes is a given; I'm in IT, and most of our prod changes have to happen after the close of business for the day. So even if I'm only working 40 hours, sometimes part of that is in the evening.)

That probably doesn't directly correlate, but there could be details we don't necessarily know that factor into things. I kind of remember one girl in high school having the master bedroom in her household, because she was into sewing in a big way, and as a result, had the biggest wardrobe. That also doesn't directly correlate, as that girl also did tailoring and made tailored custom outfits on demand, and while she didn't charge the same rates as a fully trained tailor would for her services at that point in her life, she still made a lot more money than most kids, and had contributed "a significant amount" towards buying that house. I don't know how significant that was, but it doesn't seem like Ky has that kind of thing going on, so this is also not exactly the same sort of thing.

This page does not make it easier for me to stop shipping Jess and Heather.

They’ll probably cook for each other, right? That’s something.

Love this comic.

I definitely agree. I think both of those women would be great... They already know each other's big secret, as well...

Why do you say it like it's not true? As far as we know, she is straight. Her relationship with Heather is fully plutonic.
meta 29th Dec 2020, 10:44 AM edit delete reply
plutonic (adjective) plu·ton·ic | \ plü-ˈtä-nik
: formed by solidification of magma deep within the earth and crystalline throughout.

yep .. that sounds right! ~smiles~

Ah yes, plutonic relationships. Deadly and unstable, just like plutonium.

I think that depends on how much alcohol....

I totally agree. And I don't care if Jess is supposedly straight, they're perfect for each other. Probably.

I'm predicting this series ends with Fara and Vincent living together.

Also as a reminder, the latest match in the Rain Favorite Character Tournament has been extended to the end of this week due to technical issues with Strawpoll. And it will also be the last match to use Strawpoll.

It feels to me like she probably won't be deadnamed at the graduation ceremony, mostly because of being deadnamed at prom and Brother Arthur being a mostly good, supportive person.

That said, there were a number of people who didn't go to my high school graduation because they were going on to college, felt confident that they'd graduate from college and have that ceremony to go to, and didn't particularly like anyone they expected to show up to the high school graduation ceremony.

Most of the people in this category whom I actually talked to about it were surprised I'd gone, as they thought I was in the same category. For what it's worth, I attended my high school graduation ceremony because:

1. I'm borderline autistic and nobody told me that I could get away with skipping the ceremony until two days later.
2. I wasn't that confident I'd graduate from college. My high school associates were all very aware of my tendency to blow off classes and get As in them anyway. Those that were aware of me not getting good grades in some classes assumed I was just blowing them off more, rather than recognizing that I have some things I'm just not adept at, and one of them happens to be something my college and most other colleges require four semesters worth of credits in. (I graduated by retaking said classes an average of twice, along with spending roughly half my study time on those 12 credits, despite the fact that the degree took a total of 124 credits.)
