You may have seen these #SixFanarts things going around by now. They've been pretty popular with artists in the last few months (I've done it a few times myself). At first I was a little worried this trend might be slowing down, but honestly, I still see it a lot. But even if I didn't, that doesn't mean I can't still do more. ^_^
Normally, the whole point of this challenge is for other people to suggest characters for the artist to draw. This time, I just picked ones I wanted to draw. I've been pretty down lately, and trying to escape into anime and gaming (as I do), and I keep finding characters I want to fanart of. I put off doing any for a while for reasons, but I figured finally doing it might cheer me up a little. And the Six Fanarts Challenge gives me a perfect medium to address many fanarts at once!
Plus it's my birthday. Perfect time to spoil myself. XD
Katarina and Anaak are some of my faves from the current anime season. I finally recently watched all of Ranma 1/2 after starting it more than half my life ago (it hasn't all aged particularly well, but I still think Ukyou's cool). Dragon Quest celebrated its 34th anniversary a couple days ago, and I've somehow never done art for DQ11 yet. Xenoblade Definitive Edition comes out today, and I'm excited to sit down with it. And Rydia... is just best girl forever (in my opinion). Getting to draw all of the characters here made me really happy. ^_^
Other considerations for this (based on recent inspirations) were Aeris from FF7 Remake, Leviathan from Mega Man Zero, and pretty much any of the main three from Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken. Maybe some other time.
Anyway, if people are still enjoying me doing these, I'd be totally down to keep doing more. And next time, maybe I'll go back to asking people for suggestions. ^_^
Ukyou was one of my favorites from Ranma 1/2 too (along with Nabiki)! The fanart you've done so far have all been great and I'd love to see more! Maybe you could sneak a few cameos into Rain... :) You're so talented both as an artist and a storyteller, I always look forward to new pages for Rain and other art on DeviantArt. Lavender Town is next on my reading list. Stay safe and healthy!
As for any other suggestions, could you do either Valerie Tucker from "Saga of Tuck" (http://www.barkingduck.net/ehayes/writings.htm - maybe doing 'mirrored selves' with Eugene on one side and Valerie on the other), or Absinthe from "Whateley Academy" (https://crystalhall.fandom.com/wiki/Absinthe)? Well, any WA character, really, I guess.
Pretty much an Grrl Power, Dumbing of Age, or El Goonish Shive character would be interesting, too, though at this point I'm probably going a bit overboard.
You should totes draw Lily Hoshikawa from Zombieland Saga! If you haven't seen the show its a pretty enjoyable silly romp with a surprisingly well handled trans character!
When I played DQ I named the Luminary Rain, and rped her as a trans girl. And then the rainbough showed up! And then they let me into an all-girls school! It was cool.
One of my gfs and I recently made a date of watching all eight episodes of My Next Life As A Villainess that there were at the time and just fawning over how incredibly bisexual it is (and how ADORABLE all the gals are, because we're super gay and they really ARE all super cute). I hope it stays on track as the rather cute and wholesome series that it has been so far.
Happy Birthday from the future, Jocelyn!!!! If you want more suggestions, you could draw Stella from Dragon Quest 9, since that is one of my favourite games and Stella is my favourite character from DQ9.
Omg Happy Birthday Joceln, thank you so much foe making rain. Omg I love your art of Anaak and finding out one of my favorite authors enjoys one of the same webcomics as I do :)
I'm pretty sure I've already read about your birthday some other times (since I started 3 days before your birthday this year. I mean, not the fastest, but I'm actually not much into comics) but maybe I didn't pay enough attention to the date before.
Anyway, your birthday this year was literally the same day I declared as my "accepting myself day" (I'll also be celebrating it with a friend of mine from now on) \o/
Happy Birthday ^^ (Pretty late, tho)
