I don't just jump on every art trend that floats around Twitter, but hey, I had an idea and wanted to try it. The idea behind this one was to take the actual screenshot of Sailor Moon (as seen above), and redraw it in your own style. Sailor Moon is all over my feed right now. XD
But a lot of people have been drawing other characters in Sailor Moon's place and it made me think, "I do have my own magical girl characters". So I tried to recreate it using Carmen from Magical instead. I figure it'll stand out among all the others, and it was fun for me to draw. I don't know that it came out great, but I still hope you like it! ^_^
If they're younger or not too versed in anime culture, I suppose it's possible. The show was super big in the 90s, but I guess it's not exactly something I hear people discuss a lot nowadays, come to think of it.
I absolutely plan to write Magical. It may still be a while before I get to it, but you can take something like this to say I haven't forgotten about it. :)
About Magical: could you please say if Trey from Max's story is a good guy with a big mouth, or 780 dicks in a bag who's playing nice with Max but going to turn on him like whoa?
I identify with Trey a fair bit, so I wanted to know if that's a good thing. >.<
I was wondering if the rest of rain goes as planed with no complications when do u think u will actually finish the comic and when u do what will u work on next cause I love rain and I don't really want to be in shock when u end it cause after all all good things must come to a end eventually but I do hope it is a long time from now and I know u have planed other things like magical I recall their was something else but I cant reamer what it was called
It's hard to say exactly how much longer, because the world situation as it is right now is unfortunately a bit of a complication itself.
Still we are pretty late in the story. I have outlines for what's left - but not necessarily scripts - so it's hard to gauge exactly how much it is. It depends on how long it takes to go over the bullet points. So while we're late in the story, it could still take a long time to wrap up when I can return to posting, or it could fly by. I'd rather not name any concrete timeframe though (just in case I miscalculate by a lot). XD
As for what comes next, the plan is for Moonlight Wanderers to follow after Rain as the next comic. And then Magical. And probably some other non-comic projects along the way. But basically, nothing else starts until Rain is over.
As a final note, I know a lot of folks probably don't want to think of Rain ending. But if it's any consolation: if you're here for the positive queer and trans characters, and/or imperfect, dynamic characters who need to learn and grow over the course of the story, I'm delighted to confirm that that's kinda just how I like to write. If you early Rain, I feel fairly confident you'll probably still like what comes next. :)
Crap, is that all? I basically binged whole Rain, now I'll have to wait for new Rain like rest of you.
I love how... positive this webcomic is. Even if there is drama, it always ends well and it's great. I'm not from US and being a noncishet is pretty hard where I live. I do realize that even in Western Europe/US it isn't all peachy, but some plotlines, like Emily pregnancy and her having a choice between keeping a child and having an abortion, are unthinkable here.
Anyway, I love Rain and I love you Jocelyn, you are an amazing woman. <3
Hey, I wanted to thank you. I just found your comic via reddit a few days ago and I burned through it. It's really inspiring and honestly got me back into a good mood after nearly two weeks of feeling awful. So thanks a thousand times!
Your characters are really well written and relatable by the way.

I'm afraid I can't answer that at this time. I like him too, though, if that helps at all. ^_^
