Comic 1210 - Surprise Visit

So, in case you need a refresher: Aiken (Rain's brother) was engaged to Jessica, but dumped her when he found out she was trans. He blew up again when he found out the same thing about Rain, but it did set him down the road to growing up a bit. He's since been doing research, and has made amends with Rain. Aiken started out kinda lousy, but he's come a long way since then.

At a later date, he tried to approach Jessica and apologize to her too. That one didn't go as well. Although Jess had a lot to say, she froze up in the moment. Rather than speak her mind, she went completely silent, and both parties felt awful.

Several chapters and months of time in the comic have passed since then. Jessica is still thinking about this moment and lamenting her inability to speak her mind, and Heather insists she should get her closure too. The two agreed that when Jess finally decides to speak to Aiken, Heather will be there as emotional support.

This brings us to now. With Rain, Fara, Ky, and everyone else in their lives all at St. Hallvard's prom right now (plus, it's Friday night anyway), Jess decides this is as good a time as any to make her stand. Jess is trying to put up a brave face and acting like it's all no big deal, but this is clearly giving her a lot of anxiety. How will things turn out, I wonder...

Oh, wow. starting this chapter with the heavy stuff. hope it goes well. Jess NEEDS this, either as full closure or a surprise re-kindling. with the way Aiken has grown the last few chapters I have a feeling he may just surprise most of us with how he handles the surprise of Jess on his doorstep. i hope he surprises Jess with a kiss & a good hug. i think she needs it with how trepidatious she is acting right now about how he will act when he sees her.
