So, I participated Inktober this year. I didn't share them here because I just didn't want to clutter up the comic site. Posting an occasional random one-off doodle between pages is one thing. But I don't know if people - especially months/years beyond the current hiatus - are going to want to see potentially up to 31 images of off-topic filler in a row when they're just looking for the next page of the comic. XD

That said, I did participate. I just slightly did not meet last year's numbers. In 2018, I managed to do twenty prompts; this year, I did nineteen. I'm still happy with everything, though. I think I got some fun art out of it. The point was not to stress out over it and have fun, and maybe showcase a few stories you might be hearing more about in the future along the way. And in that regard, no matter how many prompts were completed, I've done what I set out to do. I'm happy with this. ^_^

If you're just finding out about this now or wanted to see them all together, you can check out this and last year's Inktobers here:

So... now what?

Well, I know a lot of you are probably getting antsy, wondering when Rain is coming back. The answer was before and still is 2019. I'm not mentally ready to jump back in just yet, but I'm getting there. If I were to narrow it down, I'm leaning towards sometime between the end of November or the start of December. In the meantime, there are just other things on my mind that I need to attend to. Not the least of which being a certain other month-long artistic community event...

That being, NaNoWriMo (or National Novel Writing Month). I'll say flat out that I do not expect to write a novel or even get anywhere near 50,000 words this month (as the usual goal implies). My personal goal is three chapters of a story I want to work on in prose. If I can do three chapters, I'll consider this a huge success. I won't say which story it is for the time being, but you could probably narrow it down. ;)

I will be working on Rain at the same time, though. While I write for NaNo, I'll draw for Rain. I want to test something, and this will be a valuable, little experiment for me. Regardless of how NaNo goes, though, Rain will be ready to return shortly afterward. And from there, I'll resume regular comic posting, three days a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (including Christmas, which happens to fall on a post day this year). I hope you'll all look forward to seeing everything. I'm certainly looking forward to doing it all. ^_^

Have a lovely day, everyone! <3

Rain banner on the computer screen? That's some Rain-ception right there. Also Rain looks amazing. That mid-length kinda short Hairstyle really works for her.

I've been wanting to do a comic dub of this. I have my own ideas on how everyone sounds.

Shouldn't the first pic on the left of Rains screen be the comic called "Snow"? I think I remember Rudy telling Rain about it earlier in the the story.

I like the glowing pink gemstone on Inktober 2019 #7 Enchanted...

Ya know whenever you illuminate a real ruby gemstone, either a natural one or a laboratory-made synthetic ruby, as long as it's chemically a genuine ruby, with ultraviolet light.... it glows with a brilliant pinkish-red fluorescence like magic!!!

My sister gave me a genuine natural ruby necklace charm and I bought a pair of synthetic ruby earrings off Amazon that happen to match the normal daylight red color of the necklace charm. Then a few weeks later I bought one of those $9.95 LED ultraviolet flashlights from Walmart just for the heck of the novelty of owning a UV flashlight and one night discovered by accident that both the necklace charm and the earrings glow brilliantly in the dark when illuminated by UV light.... that comic panel reminded me of my discovery.

Try it sometime if you ever have the opportunity. It's pretty cool... must be related to the same scientific principle of how a crystalline ruby rod with 100% mirrored surface on one end and a 50% mirrored surface on the other end lases when illuminated by a bright xenon flash tube which is rich in UV spectrum...

I just found this two days ago and binged through all of it and I absolutely love it! although I think with Emily being pregnant it stirred up some maternal instincts in me which hadn't happened yet after a whole year of hormones
