I hope it's not too cheesy to say this page "warms" my heart. ;P
To echo Gavin and Colette's words, I'll add here that this is definitely not a perfect solution. Under the jacket, he's still in a dress, and his classmates are almost certainly still going to continue to unwittingly misgender him.
However, there's a lot to be said about how he himself sees it. It might be just a blazer to most people, but bear in mind this is all still very new to Colette. He's only come to terms with his being trans within the last couple months. And since then, he's made no steps towards transition (up to and including not getting new clothes), because he wants to wait until he goes away to college. So, this might a first for him. It may seem like just a little thing to some, but this means the world to him right now.
Really, it's the little things that can be the biggest deal. ^_^
Gavin, that was smooth af. Also, Colette's such a cutie. He looks extra dapper with the blazer on. It's really a great look on him, especially with him so much happier in the last panel. <3 I'm really excited to see more of him and am really hoping he'll become part of the main group.
Next, Gavin needs to go have a slow dance with Ana, hold her real close and at the opportune moment, dip her down backwards, holding herand kiss her so passionately she almost passes out while looking so deeply into each others’ eyes that the rest of the world disappears for the moment, and everyone else at the prom stops what they’re doing to watch in awe, wishing they were living that moment too. Gavin would then have Prom King cinched. All the other boys there would have to bow down on their knees and do the “Wayne’s World - We’re not worthy, we’re scum, we suck” bit when Gavin and Ana walk past them.
I'm a trans dude too, and I can say from experience that being offered a blazer while you're stuck in a dysphoria inducing dress is the best thing ever.
At this time though, this is all there is. I don't plan on starting Magical (which will be a comic) in full force until sometime after Rain is done. However, when that is ready to start, I'll probably continue to use Comic Fury (and the other sites I currently use for Rain). I'll give it its own page, of course, but I'm happy with the system I've got here for now. Thank you for your interest! :)
A good part of gender dysphoria has to do with how society treats us. And we live in a patriarchal society. Hence, a trans woman is seen as taking a step down. But a trans man as taking a step up. Society tends to treat trans women worse.
That was an awful, awful pun. :p
Well, for the time being you can find the character prologues (written in prose) on my DeviantArt here: https://www.deviantart.com/jocelynsamara/gallery/46861739/Magical
