So, I like to imagine that all of this weeks pages are happening at the same time. Rain, Emily, and Chanel talking outside the restroom doors (and eventually approached by Drew). Ana and Ky in the ladies room, while Ky gets ready to change. And finally Gavin and Rudy in the mens room, while Rudy gets ready. Same time, different places (although, still in very close proximity).
Much like the previous page, today we only see Gavin and not the currently disrobing party. Today's page is probably less noteworthy than last time, but I like Rudy's admission that he basically expected to be wearing a dress tonight. If not Ky's dress, there was someone else's.
And before you ready those torches and pitchforks, yes, I promise we'll actually get to see Rudy and Ky on screen next week. XD
I love how he very clearly stays away from stating he was expecting to wear Ky's dress. He just wanted to help a friend and omigod you're a genius and I hope Collette and Aidyn work out but if they don't Rudy and Collette would make a great relationship, but the two together also make great friends so ... I don't know. Thank you Jocelyn for being you.
I was just about to point out the Ruby vs Rudy thing to Jocelyn too since she said “Rudy and Ky” . I guess since canonically, thus far, Rudy is just cross dressing and neither trans nor an egg officially, then using birth name is acceptable, but when dressed and presenting female I cannot help but refer to her as Ruby, it’s just an automatic thing for me....Meanwhile here’s another Ruby who used to be a Rudy ;-)

(And yes, rhis webcomic was a heavy influence in helping me choose my new name, and in helping me finally make the decision to launch my own transition. I came across Rain the last weekend of July 2016, fell in love with the story, binge-read all 860+ pages that were released at that point, with little food or sleep, just taking short cat naps until I’d read the whole thing as close to non-stop as was humanly possible, and when caught up I put my plans into motion to start HRT and was able to take my first dose of estradiol and spiro on 2-September-2016 and there’s been no turning back. I am who I am today because of this webcomic. If I hadn’t begun my transition then, there’s a serious chance I wouldn’t be alive today.)
GOD I LOVE RUDY
that line "it's not a big deal to me but it is a big deal to Ky" like,, recognizing how different people have different perspectives and validating Ky's struggle Ky's need to wear a tux even though Rudy himself feels comfortable in both a tux and a dress?
such a good friend so selfless and considerate and thoughtful ahhh we need more people like him in the world
I just use it to mean a pause that's sort of longer than a single comma but not as long as an ellipse! it's pretty slangy though it doesn't have an official meaning
