I hope it's a swap with their date. They get to be comfortable in a tux while their date gets to experience what it's like presenting in a way that doesn't match what they feel.
Well it depends. I think this is perceived quite differently from person to person. I myself do experience dysphoria and would like to have a flat chest (sometimes) but I very much like the feeling of being able to show it wherever I am - most of the times I wouldn't feel comfortable with it, but at places where it is possible I sometimes enjoy it greatly. It gives me a feeling of security and freedom. This all feels more me (and by that I mean whatever gender I feel like that day) then needing to bind or whatever, cause this just makes my chest hurt and focus on stuff I don't like. I know it is very different for a lot of people. But don't assume it's like that for everyone! ;)
A far-fetched theory, but I propose Ky asks Maria for some last-minute quick tailoring (only has to be good enough to hold up for a single night!) to turn the dress into a tunic or a snazzy top-and-pants set up.
I doubt this, only because this is framed like she'd be able to immediately act on the idea, and Maria hasn't shown up yet. Also, I think turning a dress into a non-dress would take a while no matter how shoddy you were willing to let it be xD
I just discovered this comic from a meme on /r/egg_irl that mentioned it, and holy shit I spent two days reading it all and I love it oh my god this is so good and I love the characters
No shame in bra or binder, just gotta be comfortable :)
