Holly and Devon have seen Ky (in boy mode) with Drew at the mall. For what it's worth, Ky was also present at the Halloween party (again, in boy mode), though they never interacted then. Even beyond their meetings and sightings, Drew has talked about them to Devon in the past too. They don't know Ky per se, but they might still seem familiar. Devon and Holly still don't really know the situation though.
As for Ky - not in girl mode, but stuck in a dress at the moment - this situation is kind of a mood. Especially when I was pre-transition and not out to anyone yet. I could still have fun and smile and laugh and all, but every pause was just enough time to think about my dysphoria. More power to them for being such a trooper, but still, the situation sucks.
Not related to this page (although I love it! Poor Ky...), but I’ve been rereading Rain, and Aiken’s character development is amazing! He’s one of my favorite characters because of it. I’m a sucker for characters who start off “bad” but eventually come around. He’s trying so hard to understand Rain’s situation, go Aiken!! :D
Since Ky revealed they weren't happy wearing this dress I'm really really hoping somehow Drew and them would exchange clothes. Damned the fact that they'd need a binder to pull it off, but damn a girl can dream, right?
Yes, this.... If Drew would just rub a couple brain cells together so they'd make a spark, then go and approach Rudy and ask him for a huge favor, if he'd swap outfits with Ky. Rudy is a very generous good guy and if Drew is asking him for Ky's benefit and explains it as such, that in and of itself would likely impress the heck out of Rudy, and completely overwhelm Ky with a sudden tsunami of "holy crap, Drew finally *gets it*!!!". I know Rudy thinks he's being the hip trendsetting fashion statement wearing a monocle with a tuxedo, but he's already made a grand entrance rocking it and it's very likely wearing the monacle will start to bug the heck out of him in a little while and the lens would just end up in his pocket for the rest of the night anyway... either that or he might even be crass enough to just have to wear the monocle with a certan blue-green formal dress just to watch people's heads explode.
And by now, *everyone* at the prom would be so wierded out by seeing that spectacle (pun intended, lol) That any suspicious attention on Rain by Debbie or anybody else, would be completely forgotten about because Rudy dressed as Ruby and wearing a monocle too would be so overwhelmingly outrageous , it might even make everone forget they ever saw Ky enter the event in the same dress, Even Holly's attention span might be shorter than usual..
I think Drew's starting to think of someone other than himself and finally understanding that it's not "no big deal" for Ky to be presenting/read as the wrong gender. My bet is he's realizing that what he thought he wanted (them in a dress, regardless of their gender that night) isn't what he actually wanted (a fun night with his date, where both of them are comfortable and happy) and is starting to think of how he can make things right, or at least better.
I think he still can be. I mean, I grew up with a ton of friends who think being LGBT is wrong and I know plenty of people now who do, and I was baptized as a catholic. But I'm one of the most accepting people I know.
As someone who's actually been in Ky's exact situation (sudden dysphoria from a dress at a dance due to unexpected gender change), I'm really feeling for them right now. I hope they have the chance to sit down and talk to someone quietly and avoid moving around and having the fleshsacks continue announcing their presence. Or whatever helps them with their dysphoria, since the solution for them might be different from what helped me.

(Yes, yes, I know there are like a dozen reasons why that wouldn't work.)
