Okay, so I know it's been a really long time. Apart from the page earlier this week and Volume 5's Chapter E (wink, wink), we haven't actually seen Heather and Jessica since Chapter 28. It was over two years ago, and I can't blame anyone for forgetting what was going on with this. I really didn't mean for them to be AWOL so long. My bad! ^^;
So here's a refresher:
In Chapter 28, Jessica was at work when Aiken (who's also been absent from the story for a long time), entered the cafe and apologized for the things he'd said to her when they were together. If you don't remember that, he said some pretty awful transphobic things upon learning that about her. But after getting to know Rain's situation more and doing his own research, he grew up a bit, and he came in and tried to set things right. Jessica however, froze up in the moment, and didn't say anything to him, and Aiken left forlorn.
You can see pretty much that whole scene starting here, and then reading the next couple after it. ^_^
So, three months later - in Rainverse time - poor Jess still hasn't let it go. (I don't know about you, but I can really relate to the idea of agonizing over the need for closure.) But does she want to take him back? Does she want to tear him a new one? Something in between (there's a wide spectrum of possibilities)? Whatever the case, she just needs to wrap things up for herself with this. And I guess Heather will be there as backup for her too.
I think she should talk to him and get things off her chest. Let him apologize again if he wants, but only if he apologizes to Heather for how he acted toward her as well.
And I think she's going to be shocked by how Aiken has changed.
oh god, i've been agonizing over the need for closure over a heartbreak for /six/ months and have yet to actually force myself to have that conversation... i need a friend like heather lol
I had one of those situations of not knowing what to say and missing out on closure as a result in October 1994. She graduated that December. I managed to find the words to open the conversation I wanted in February, but my email to her school address bounced.
I have not stopped agonizing over it.
Jess should get her closure while she can, if she still can.

Welp. Time to reread the archives again.
wink wink)" made me chuckle. KudosI have not stopped agonizing over it.
