So, fun fact! The dress Allison wore to her prom actually WAS considered for Rain at one point long ago, via an old art meme I participated in before the comic even started. And for what it's worth, for a long time, I thought this is what I was using. When I starting thinking about prom attire for everyone though, I just wasn't feeling it anymore. But rather than completely cut the dress out, I decided to pass it on to someone else. And Allison rocks it pretty well too. ^_^
Leave it to me to turn supplementary material and concept art into random canon. XD
On the other side of this page, we have Chanel, who as many you noted on the previous page, seems to be a little preoccupied right now. She's always quiet, but definitely seemed to grow more distant when the topics of prom and dresses came up. Poor kid. Emily splits from the rest of the group to talk to Chanel, and here's hoping she's able to help somehow.
I disagree, females is distinct because not all girls identify as being female, they may be Male or intersex. Hence why many people say "Male men and female women" to talk about people who's sex and gender line up.
*Facepalm* Does every word I say have some kind of offensive connotation? I was just saying it in a sord of jokey "I am unfamiliar with girls" kind of way.
@Joce I am a trans man myself and I identify as Male, but I know some trans people who don't and I've talked to many others online who don't either. Also, for some people who do not choose to physically transition, I have heard them describe themselves this way. Also, in the case of medical services some people feel it's important to acknowledge the difference in their anatomy from the typical configuration for their gender. There's no one right way to define yourself when you're trans, please don't try to police other people's labels.
Also, in no way did I advocate calling trans women Male or trans men female, I said not all women identify as female, I know plenty of people who identify as Male wome or intersex women for instance. Gender and sex are not synonymous for lots of people in their identity in my experience.
1. Ask "You look sad. Can I give you a hug?"
2. If she says yes, a hug may be given.
3. If she says no, do not attempt to hug her.
Keep in mind, these steps apply to hugging someone you know well. Do not try this with people you don't know.
As a trans woman I would be very very upset if someone called me a male woman.
