So, if you don't remember Rudy and Colette's previous interactions, it's been a little awkward for a while. For starters, Colette literally bumped into Ruby in the ladies' room not long ago. At the time, Ruby was trying not to be spotted and took off with barely a word. Ana caught on to who it was though and suggested that Ruby should apologize. But of course Rudy would approach Colette as Rudy. If you reread the following couple pages from there, we see Colette is surprisingly receptive to all this, but misreads the situation a little, assuming Rudy is actually a trans boy, rather than a boy who was dressing like a girl. Rudy makes the correction, Colette gets embarassed, and that's the last we see of their interactions until they happen to encounter each other in the hall again on this very page.
Whew! Did you get all that? XD
Now, we have Rudy - following a venting session about his long-time bully to Brother Arthur - offering to similarly lend an ear to Colette. What do you suppose they'll discuss? ;)
1. Oh, Rudy, your so sweet! XOXO
2. Glad the venting situation went well. Rudy has done his part ftm, but now it all depends on what Brother Arthur does with the info Rudy gave him. Will he take it Quinton in the hopes it'll change his mind about Maria? Or will he go over his head with what Rudy had told him and tell the school board, or, even better, tell the lawyer Chanel's parents were talking to? As long as the end result is Quinton being fired and Todd expelled, or both of them arrested for hate crimes if possible, the world would shine a little brighter.
3. Hope this little chat with Colette goes well. Hope Rudy can help her.
Well this is interesting, I'm superbly curious as to what will happen. Drawing off the title, sounds like its *possible* Colette is trans, in which case, Rain has inadvertently caused a cascade effect.
Doesn't have to be "transing" everyone. Just need to accomplish the goal of "corrupting" an entire catholic school until everyone is at *least* an LGBT Ally.
Even Todd. (Improvement #1 being no punchy punchy. #2: write apology cards to every one he's abused in the school, including all the prom begging.)
Then I want to see Father Quenton attempt to, or hire a baker, and get a huge rainbow cake for the entire school.
(Obviously such things could never happen, and this is why fan fiction exists.)
Oh wow... I feel like this is a really good way things will go for both of them. Rudy has been able to talk about everything and now wants to be there for Colette (I think). <3
There was this discussion wether Ana should talk to Colette about being trans or not. While a lot said she shouldn't I was hoping she would at least make some very direct comments. But this may be even better for Colette. As Colette is approaching the person that has outed themselves just like that. And as we know Rudy is really open to all this and will probably speak his mind to Colette as well. I really hope they have a good talk and maybe Colette will open up to Rudy and make some room for trying out things. (if Colette doesn't already have this room, we don't know that much about them yet!)
When I first met another non-binary person I was really happy to be able to talk about some stuff and they were also really open to talk about it with me. And even if our experiences were different (and in this case with Rudy and Colette they will be pretty different I guess?), it really helps to be able to talk to someone and know that this person is really outspoken about things.
