I've had this happen a couple times myself actually. Let someone know I'm trans, present female, have a moment later where they ask if I plan going on T (as in testosterone) at some point. No harm is usually meant, so I tend to get a good laugh out of it, and we just share this awkward moment together.
Normally, you might expect Rudy would probably have a field day playing along with this, but he seems a bit taken off-guard by it. Ana too, for that matter. I wonder how either of them could respond. And then there's Colette, who doesn't seem particularly phased beyond the initial realization. Thoughts?
I’m... actually a bit worried. If Rudy/Ruby is still holding a candle for Rain... knowing she’s a lesbian... and starts trying to push themselves to come across more female than male to try and win her affection... after all, there’s that “loose ends” quip they said just now.
Then again I don’t REALLY think they’d do that. I’m just the type to immediately think of the worst-case scenario when it comes to media. I tend to predict a lot of stuff in Game of Thrones btw lol.
But yeah... the shocked expression could mean anything. Such as “holy bejeebus am I really XX instead of XY?? *head explodes*”
Predicting things in Game of Thrones is reslly easy though.....
Winter is still coming and every character, no matter whether you like or hate them, is gonna die.
It's okay. In fairness, it did start a long time ago now. :)
Ruby became a thing way back in the beginning of the story during the Halloween chapter. Rudy dressed as "Ruby" hoping to help Rain feel less alone, if even just for a night. It backfired because Rain misinterpreted his intentions, but eventually she got over it. http://rain.thecomicseries.com/comics/144/
Enough to ask Rudy to do it again even! When Rain was posing as a boy for Aiken before he knew about her being trans during the Christmas arc, Ruby posed as "Ryan's girlfriend" to really solidify the act. http://rain.thecomicseries.com/comics/271
Then Ruby was absent from the story for a long time, but would be brought up in passing every once in a while. Apparently, Rudy would still dress up occasionally, but only within in his own room with no one watching. http://rain.thecomicseries.com/comics/567
Ruby would finally reenter the comic during a mall outing to tease Gavin. Ruby met Gavin and Rain's childhood friend, Allison, who never caught on to Rudy's true identity. It made Rudy realize he really enjoyed doing this. http://rain.thecomicseries.com/comics/782
Have you ever thought of doing comic tags? So that w can more readily find this sort of stuff ourselves without having to read every single comic again c:
I don't know about anyone else, but I can't *see* the tags on my end, so even if searching works, I wouldn't know what to search for beyond possibly character names (not terribly useful for our main crew). I found searching character names (including alternative names like "Ruby") works, but searching for content by topic or similar (e.g. "haircut") didn't work.
The search button at the top of the site lets you search for things. I know you can search be characters, but you might also be able to search by other things too.
It's more than that! if you look back at the last comic (http://rain.thecomicseries.com/comics/1027) she(?) says that she(? again)'s never been good at dresses... methinks you could very well be right :)
Well, people have been speculating about Colette being ftm from her first appearance. However the evidence is thin. Outside the comic it is ridiculously thin: You don't like dresses, you must be trans. However, given that a newly introduced character has a high probability of being on the LGBTQI+ spectrum, even thin evidence may be significant.
Not liking dresses doesn't mean you're a guy though... Butch cis (and trans, for that matter) women exist. She hasn't shown any signs of physical or social dysphoria so I wouldn't say she's a guy, but hey, they could be. There's no more evidence of Colette being a guy than Maria, Emily, or any other AFAB female-presenting cast member being a guy, though. Masculinity != maleness.
On second reading, I get a really ominous tone from Rudy's line. "...with some of the things going on in my life right now, I don't want loose ends I'm gonna regret..." Is he resigned to the fact that he might get sent to conversion camp and feels like he has to tie everything up?
I have a question that dosnt relate to whats going on here, a while back in a Rain Delay we see Rains brother talking to Randy in the game store around christmas. And my question is, is that cannon?
Also in regards to this page, i really wanna know how this plays out but i fell like on friday we're going to see something else, like what Ky is up too. or back to Rain Em and Maria are talking about.
Yet another great panel. You're really talented when it comes to drawing the emotion in your characters faces. Also, I hope Collette becomes part of the main crew. She's awesome.
I don't remember whether it ever really stood out to me before, but it's suddenly hitting really different realising that *cough* Colette's immediate first thought was "girl who's now presenting as a guy."
Then again I don’t REALLY think they’d do that. I’m just the type to immediately think of the worst-case scenario when it comes to media. I tend to predict a lot of stuff in Game of Thrones btw lol.

So finally, in the previous chapter, Ruby made a solo outing for the first time... which, well it started out okay...

And this brings us to now.
I've been tagging every page since the beginning. Does that mean it's not working?
(...shhh I'm hype for moonlight wanderers even though I'm 99% sure neither of those species will appear)
They bumped into each other here. ^_^
