In case you didn't get the memo, Rain is going to start posting again on Monday, Jan. 8th.

I finally started drawing again today for the first time in almost a month, and it felt good. (This isn't what I drew; I made and posted this months ago on Patreon, actually.) But I still wanted to post SOMETHING today, and I promised I'd start talking some Moonlight Wanderers more this year. So let's talk! ^_^

Above, we have MW protagonist, Maya, alongside the other three major characters, Hau, Gladion, and Lillie. All of which, decked out in the school uniform from Rain. Why?

Well, why not?

As much as I kinda hate drawing St. Hallvard uniforms at this point, there's something about seeing them on my other characters that just delights me for some reason (you might want to just expect this trend for any future stories out of me too). And the main cast of Moonlight Wanderers are in the perfect age range for it (I think I've said this already, but everyone's aged up to late teens for the comic). This actually started out with me wanting to draw out a full page of Father Quenton chewing each one of them out for one reason or another, but I guess I have kind of done that already with characters from another story. So just a random doodle for now. XD

Oh, this probably goes without saying, but since I don't own Pokemon, Moonlight Wanderers is definitely NOT Rainverse canon or anything. I know there's some interesting crossover with some of my other stories like how Magical is TOTALLY part of the Rainverse despite being a fantastical magical girl story. But Nuzlocke comics are basically fanfiction, so I'd rather not make any wild claims. Drawing these kids in St. Hallvard uniforms is purely for the fun of it. And even if Rain or her friends (for example) were to make a cameo in Moonlight Wanderers at some point, you should probably expect that's just for fun.

THIS IS SO CUTE!!! But isn't Gladion older than Lillie? She refers to him as her older brother in the Japanese version. Blue collars are for a grade higher than green collars, right?

Honestly, I'd never been clear on Lillie and Gladion's ages, so I'd been considering it pretty much every direction. I am leaning towards Gladion being the older one in MW too.

Either way, here I was just playing with colors a bit. Originally, I was gonna have everyone in blue collars, but I thought Maya just looked better with the green one, and then somehow Gladion ended up with one too. Incidentally, Hau and Gladion almost got orange and red respectively because I think they just look good in those colors, but I really didn't want to confuse things more than necessary, because I don't actually want them to be that young.

All that said, I'm trying not to be too particular about ages this time around. I've been saying "older teens" a lot in my own material. So presumably, they're all in that 17-19 range (that much IS important to the story). But unlike most other things I write, I just haven't felt like I really had to specify exact numbers for anyone this time. So whatever works, in this case. ^_^

At first, when I saw this, my first thought was "Why is Ky in a St. Horndog, er Hallvard uniform?

I'm so excited for Monday!!! Does anyone have the link to the discord? I just found out about it, and none of the previously posted links work anymore.
