To hopefully avoid anything being too questionable, Vincent doesn't utter a word about his talks with Kellen to Fara. But he can't help but dwell on those talks, so we can still get the information. As for the things he discusses with Kellen in the flashback, keep in mind that the wording here is meant to imply they've been talking a lot lately, and everything he's saying is based on what she's told him.

I'm trying my best to make sure this is all as unquestionable as possible while still making sure you the readers can get the needed information. I understand this still might not totally fly in real life, but please try to bear with me.

But enough of that. I'd much rather we focus on the information itself, rather than how it's presented, if you don't mind.

Woho! Just caught up! I read Rain a few years ago on your DeviantArt and I almost forgot about it when I left. Finding your comic after all this time is wonderful!

Kellen, what else did your father do?

<j/k>He wouldn't let us squeeze the Charmin, even though Mr. Whipple encouraged people to do that in the final decades of his life.</j/k>

For what it's worth, I'm sure it'd be OK for Vincent to independently ask Fara, Rain, and Aiken about what exactly Marcus Flaherty did to earn his family's fear/ire.

An elegant solution. Vincent keeps confidentiality while we enjoy tasty, if disturbing plotty goodness.

This is from a post I made on my Facebook page:

The Diamond Jubilation Question Of Every Hour:

Who is ME?

Has the personality and the identity of ME been predetermined by the environment into which I was born, the genetics I was born with, and the social interactions that have composed my life?

Can I imagine and can I actualize a ME that is solely my choice and my will, unfettered by circumstances in which I had neither input nor consent?

I think I know what rains dad did. In one of the flashbacks when rain was tryin on Kelleys old clothes, her dad said something like "take those of or I'll take them off for you." It's been nagging me for that long. I think mr flaherty was sexually abusing the kids. Please either confirm whether in wrong or right to help my state of mind.

I read that scene as physical abuse, but I can understand why you might think it was sexual abuse. It's definitely some sort of abuse, and it does point to the possibility that he abused Kellen, too.

I also read it as physical abuse. That said, just because something is intended as physical abuse does not mean that it does not also cause sexual abuse trauma. Note: I'm not a psychologist, I've merely listened to both sides of more physical abuse cases than I'd like to have. (The number I wanted to hear about: 0. The number I've heard both sides of: at least 2.)
