At last, we see the return of long absent character, Ana. Aside from a few brief cameos, her last real scene was about seven chapters ago. But of note, she had a single page appearance in the last chapter where she awoke from surgery. What surgery though? Why? Is this her "embarrassing injury"? Well, we don't know yet.
Maybe we'll know for sure soon, though. And maybe there's some hints right here. ^_^
As you may probably know by now, I'm saving up for my (hopefully) upcoming SRS date in a few months. If you're able, you can help me out. Buying books, or shirts, or just plain donations are all very helpful right now. Our Etsy shop is back open too, for bracelets and wristbands. Obviously, if you are unable to or don't want to offer anything monetary, that's totally fine and I completely understand. There are other ways you can help. Like voting for Rain on TopWebComics or joining/sharing the Facebook page (or even just telling your friends!) can help spread the word about my work. Thanks for anything you can do; no hard feelings if you can't. ^_^
Assuming her surgery was SRS, I wonder if Rain is going to pick up on Ana being trans (or vice versa, actually.) Rain probably knows enough about the surgery and consequences that she could make an educated guess (but then again she doesn't have a great "transceiver" so she might not know.) On the other hand, this is the first time that Ana is seeing Rain with short hair, and since Rain isn't on hormones yet her face may look a little masculine and she can be clocked (as evidenced by those two jerkface kids last chapter) plus, if Ana is trans, she may be able to pick up on some of the signals more easily than other people would.
Also, Rain hasn't turned bright red yet. Good for her.
Aaaaand I just realized that the first day Emily comes back to school after revealing she's pregnant is the same day that Rain has her appointment, meaning that Rain won't be there for her if she receives some backlash. Maybe there will be a lot of Maria punching people in the face, who knows.
Make that horribly naive and dense. I do think the "missed weeks of school", "sore pelvic region", "weakness and fatigue", "embarrassing 'injury'" would clue in anyone who knew anything about being trans. Of course, most of the the group isn't trans but LGBT so they are kinda out of the loop. Might take awhile. I'm glad Gavin didn't get angry at her. That would be a bummer if he was like "nooo, sorry I've moved on."
I don't know... I mean, that's a mighty leap to take, not knowing much about the girl. And unless Rain has looked up SRS already, she might not know any of the details about what is to come immediately after said surgery.
And there are other surgeries that happen below the belt that might have those same symptoms. So just like us, Rain would be making an assumption.
Eh, it's not that bad. After about 4 weeks I was able to actually get out of bed and sit using a cushion. After 8 weeks, I was back to martial art practice.
I seem to recall we did get half an explanation last time we saw her. Unless I'm mistaken, she's not T, but one of the letters that hasn't been in the story yet.
She isn't T, she is I .
Intersex
It was hinted way back when her dad had a picture and was saying that he made the wrong choice but that would soon be fixed.
Many times when a child is born Intersex they have ambiguous genitalia and the Doctors perform a surgery to make the genitals more "Normal" and the parents decide which gender to raise the child and the operation is performed.
This was most likely what Ana's father is reffering to when he said he made the wrong choice. Its True she had SRS but she is an Intersex person. (And yes people who are intersex can also be Transgender)
Ohhhh, didn't catch that part. Well, it would be more accurate to state that she is I, and T too. Through an accident, she was medically transitioned as male (read: erased as intersex) but it turned out she was in fact also in the wrong body, just because of circumstances rather than birth. IT happens.

I doubt she catches on.

Oooh, "donut club". Sounds like a club I wanna join, but wish I didn't have to join.
