First two panels: I wish I could say this didn't happen to me all the time. Keys. Phone. Money. Glasses. It's scary how often I lose things on my person. XD

Anyway, this page features Debbie being very Debbie, and Holly being very Holly. And contrary to how Debbie interprets it, Emily is being very Emily. Real Emily though, as opposed to her fake alpha girl persona. But these two only really know the fake version...

A little mention of prom pops up here too. That's still a ways away, but expect talks about prom to pick up more and more from here.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

As you may probably know by now, I'm saving up for my (hopefully) upcoming SRS date in a few months. If you're able, you can help me out. Buying books, or shirts, or just plain donations are all very helpful right now. Obviously, if you are unable to or don't want to offer anything monetary, that's totally fine and I completely understand. There are other ways you can help. Like voting for Rain on TopWebComics or joining/sharing the Facebook page (or even just telling your friends!) can help spread the word about my work. Thanks for anything you can do; no hard feelings if you can't. ^_^

Emily's already being put on the defensive here. :(

Well, at least they didn't overhear it. Still, Emily is in a tough spot right now, she needs to either divert the attention of come up with a believable excuse. Her Mom calling could be believable if done right.

She could always ask Holly something to change the topic

I'm actually getting a pretty invested in Debbie at this point. Like will she still be loyal enough to have Emily's back when the preggers bombshell hits?
I imagine Holly will just be her usual obliviously excited self :)

Debbie is a archetypical "high school friend" - transitory, fickle, and "bee eff effs" right up to the point where it becomes inconvenient or annoying to stay friends (such as when they leave high school or if any aspect of their friendship changes at all, such as increased maturity). I had a few of these in primary school, though I avoided friends entirely in high school. I didn't want to make many friends, because the girls didn't want to be "friends" with me and the boys scared me because I didn't want to be associated with masculinity.

I still think Debbie is related to Vincent somehow. Their hair and skin color is too similar, so I think she's gonna play a pretty big role in the story sometime soon.

Oh. I was thinking she was an illegitimate daughter of Marcus'. And that's why she has the same traits as Kellen... annoying and vile.

I like Holly much better. :)

My marks of losing stuff shame:
1. Losing my keys... in my right hand.
2. Losing my glasses... on my nose.

I once wondered aloud why I couldn't find my phone. The person on the other end of the call found it amusing.

I've sometimes had to hunt down my glasses... but that's because if they're not on my face, everything beyond about two feet away is a blur.

I have my prom today. I mean it's exciting but also kind of disappointing cause I have to go in some tux rather than a dress >_>

@Lemonado Girl

I had to wear a tux to my prom too, so I know where you're coming from. That said, despite my wanting a dress, I do remember having a good time all the same. So I hope you'll have fun too. ^_^

You know, I never thought I'd give a crap about prom to be honest.

But then I met you! ^_^

I went to prom how I wanted, I punched a student who tried making a comment, then when a teacher tried saying I wasn't allowed to dress how I was I simply stated that discrimination in Canada is illegal and that since that was a public school I could charge her AND sue the school. That ended any teacher trying to ruin my prom.

I didn't know before prom so I wore a suit. Now, I'm just glad there aren't any pictures of me from that night XD. It was a fun time though.

There's no prom where I live (and I was homeschooled anyway), so I guess that's moot... But if I had to go to prom, I guess I would've tried to wear something silly like an armor, an astronaut suit, or a Jesus cosplay.
That being said, I'm pretty sure it would've triggered some heavy dysphoria...

Have an awesome night! Don't drink too much lemonade. :p

Creative costumes to the rescue! One of my friends once considered going as Jesus to a major school dance, as then he could go around telling PDA-y couples to "make room for me." As a silly young'n, I have a while to go before my own weird prom experiences, at but this year's Homecoming Dance, I discovered that a wonderful outfit can be created by wearing a really cute dress and then stealing a friend's (completely not-matching) necktie :3

I was homeschooled so no prom for me, I kinda regret never getting to do it, but I'm also kinda glad I don't have the memories to look back on and make me sad, I was VERY repressed in those years.

Going to prom with Lemon tonight! Took some fineggling, a lot of which turned out entirely too late to have been optional. Oh well!

Basically I'm taking a childhood friend who knows the entire situation and is generally awesome and she's bringing someone from our sister school we met in Theater.

Wish us luck, guys!

Emily : "No man can take my heart!"
Rain : *Removes her headband* "I am no man."

Ahhhhh yes xD

While Debbie's attitude is somewhat questionable in this comic, I completely adore Holly and Emily here (even more than usual!).

On the subject of proms, here's some news I think might be appreciated here. ^.^

An openly trans guy won prom king in the high school I went to, this year. Never been more proud of my school. =D

I never got to go to prom myself... I was injured and in the hospital at the time. Still it would have been difficult cause there is no way anyone would've gotten me in a tux, I had worn one previously at a wedding and hated every moment of it (they just don't feel right), and I wasn't out yet so wearing a dress was a no go.

Kinda wish I could've gone though...
