I've tried changing the subject like that. It never works. XD

Let me just open the floor to you. What do you think of Rain's generosity? Why is she so gung-ho for Gavin to pursue Ana when she likes her? Is Rain just throwing in the towel on this one? Is she just a good person seeking to help a friend? Is she no longer interested? And whatever the case, why doesn't she want to tell Rudy?

Thoughts are most welcome.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

In case you hadn't gotten the memo yet, Rain - Volume 2 is FINALLY available for purchase! It covers Chapters 7 through 14 (plus an exclusive bonus chapter), and features much higher quality (no more fuzzy text). So check it out if you can. ^_^

In case that question is motivated by particular desire to know what some of us are thinking, I can imagine a couple of possible motives and intentions based on my own experience.

I think I'd do the same thing that Rain seems to be doing, because it would be much easier for me to give up something than to watch a close friend have to. ...not that I know about love triangles from experience; I'm just now coming out of social withdrawal. :D

I would guess something rather gloomier, though, as I was withdrawn in the first place due to feeling unwanted and vulnerable. (partly due to my own genderqueer status, but in my case mostly for having been raped early in life by an older child and for having mentally ill parents- but the ways those things make me feel share some common qualities)

I can also imagine something more sexual, because I totes know what it's like to have all those fiddly bits be hard to identify with. (I don't know how much of an obstacle that is for trans folk in general, because my other reasons for social dysfunction also apply to sexual dysfunction.)

I only recently discovered this comic, like a few weeks ago, and were I to be wishing frivolously, I'd wish I had known about this comic earlier. The high D'aaaw content is just what the doctor ordered when I need help fighting anxiety, isolation, etc. Thank you. Also, distraction by change of subject to cliffhanger is utterly brilliant.

Ok, I need to say it. Even though I think Maria and Chanel are a cute couple, I really really want MariaXRain being canon >w<

Changing the subject is a delicate art that takes bundle-loads of practice and a fair amount of general knowledge that can be tied together so it at least looks like you didn't change the subject. :P

I mean, Rain probably knows that perusing a relationship with her would likely not turn out ideally. She doesn't know if she is attracted to women, or if she'd be accepting of a trans woman.

Far be it from me to speak of what you already know; I'd say simply the fear of rejection and being outed, plus being a good friend.

I'm actually taking Rain's stated reasons at face value: she seems to have a lot on her plate as it is, and doesn't want to add to it, especially if her close friend also likes Ana.
