Guest Rain Delay, by the very talented Maddie AKA GenericBunnyGirl, who's responsible for the webcomic, Least Likely Magical Girl. She's offered to do a short series of strips for me to share with you during my hiatus, and as a fan of her work myself, I'm very excited to see where it goes. I hope you'll all enjoy it too! ^_^

And as a friendly reminder, by "Guest Rain Delay by someone whose name is different from mine", I mean, I'm not drawing these! Some of the comments I'm getting of "Wow, your style has gotten so much better all of a sudden, Jocelyn" are starting to border on hurtful, and I'm worried about coming back after the hiatus and disappointing everyone with my own "apparently comparatively lacking" art. Please try to be mindful of what you're saying before you say it, guys. ^^;

Maddie is extremely talented - I agree - but please go tell her you love her art. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you! And you should all check out her comic while you're at it too:

Looks like Gavin is already going to need a heal.

Can you blame him though? Rain is pretty hot.

I certainly want to add that it is hurtful to say such things, lynn and I both have strengths and weaknesses in art, and while im glad you appreciate a change of pace, it makes me feel guilty for making this comic, it was meant to be a gift for lynn, and its causing her trouble.

Please respect everybody's art style. If this keeps up I might have to terminate any future plans for the delay. I'm not going to make something that is going to hurt lynn

I'm surprised that people thought it was your art. The differences in style shows that it was a different person, and you did mention it multiple times over. I will always love your art, Jocelyn!

Maddie's art is very good but so is Jocelyn's they have their own style I never felt that Rain had poor art its got its own style and I love it!

They're different styles, not better. That's like trying to compare flowers to fairy lights; they're different kinds of wonderful!

Rain? Who's that? Do you mean Kaminari? ;-)

I agree that the artwork is good, but I actually prefer Rain's style. Part of the reason I started reading. :)

I know it probs not gonna happen, but Rain and Gavin are my favorite ship. Also on Gavin's turn, maybe have him kick down the door?

Apples to oranges. Some people may prefer this current GUEST STRIP art style but Rain’s ACTUAL author has a truly gorgeous style. It took me some time to truly get a feel for her art, but once I immersed myself in the story I couldn’t imagine Rain and her friends looking any different. To be honest, these guest strips, while pretty, threw me for a loop even though we were told it was a guest strip because my first thought was “Wait, that’s not right!”

Honestly... like I said this DnD guest strip by Maddie is nice and I will Indeed investigate her comic because of these.

But I do prefer Jocelyn’s style for Rain. I wanna see more of her work! Jocelyn, please come back!!! You are missed!!! If you need to borrow my (+5 Vorpal Masterwork Golden Banhammer of Troll Smiting) just say the word! I got it specifically for when trolls appear on my blog but since I have so few visitors to it the Hammer hasn’t gotten any use yet.

FWIW, Jocelyn, I prefer your artwork to Maddie’s. Maddie’s style is not bad, but your line work seems cleaner and, of course, you have much more experience drawing these characters, expressing their moods, etc.

And you remember to use your apostrophes, too :)

I think you're both way better than me ;)

I love the rain community but sometimes y'all get far too dramatic. On an separate note, I see Rudy's been incorporating anime tropes into his campaign. Very relatable.

Also, I wanted to buy some Rain stickers from red bubble but they don't seem to be there anymore :( Could anyone tell me what happened to them?

Personally, I dont think it matters what style the comic is made with. What got me hooked was the gripping, thought provoking and sometimes hilarious story line.

As much as it's nice to have someone else who thinks Rain is hot, it still feels wrong to find her hot for some reason.
